I read in this book this one time I think it was called "The lucifer principle"? I don't think that is right. but it was some book that I read awhile back, and it said something like "Sex is an extremely psychedelic state, and only one man has put the natural components of sex, and meditation together at once" And I was thinking, I mean obviously sex is euphoric, but it is not psychedelic, at least I don't think? What makes it psychedelic? And I personally have no kids, but from what I read on the internet, at the moment that your wife, or you birth a child is way more euphoric than the actual making of the baby. Anyways, what are your guys' thoughts on this? And how in the hell did somebody even manage to combine sex with meditation? That doesn't really make sense.. But I guess obviously it does, or someone wouldn't be able to do it, would they?

maybe they mean tantra?
you can find this really awesome picutre on the website of alex grey.

there are alot of chemical reactions happening, as well as an elevated activity level/heartrate. ever heard of "runners high"? i think that the same principle would apply. i've experienced it through a similar view at least once.

making a baby however, i have no experience :)

sex and meditation i could see pretty easily in something like "tantra", but that would mean that more than two people would have done it for sure  . i guess they mean "meditation" in it's stricter, more common sense, like sitting down, eyes closed...

you are trying to put --eg, 'psychedelic' over here and 'sexuality' over there in careful boxes of your analysis and that is not how it is at ALL. Of course sex is ecstatic---! It is completely sensual, and can--depending how OPEN you are to the experience and the other, be it one person, two, three, orgy--be extremely ecstatic. But you say is that 'psychedelic'?

Well what is psychedelic? it is sensual isn't it? Now IF you combine taking psychedlic with sex what then?? You will maybe intensify the experience or will you?
Some people say they find it hard to do sex when on psychedelics--at least the more intense parts of the trip because they cant focus. Ie., it is different flava isn't it

I have trouble when people try and divide life up into pieces. And say TYHAT is 'psychedelic' and THAT is 'sex'--No, it means very different things for different people in different set and settings. Fundamentally ecstasy forms a contunuum. This is revealed in anceint mytology where references to sacred plants and sexuality are utterly intermingled. of course!
