Serotonin in Mushrooms?

Nothing .

serotonine ingested orally does not cross the blood brain barrier.

maybe all it can do is some nausea due to serotonine signalling in the guts, but even then im not sure if it wouldnt be metabolized before

Serotonin in the body also lowers the threshold of NoS pain receptors. Many plants use serotonin to irritate the skin of animals.

+ blood brain barrier, monoamine oxidase

Meduzz a dit:

Yeah, even nettles have serotonin in them. But I never have any effects from nettle tea ;)

I read somewhere that the serotonine from bananas can have unpleasant effects on humans if they're allergic to it.
So, if you can eat bananas without having troubles, you shouldn't worry too much about serotonine, I guess

I thought nanners had L-tryptofan (precurser for 5htp > seratonin).
