serotonin and pineal gland

Hi guys,

I'm looking around for material about history of serotonin, pineal gland and related, both in a occidental medical point of view (history of discoveries ecc.) and on religious, traditional, historical and iconography side of any culture and population.

Would be helpful for some work I'm doing, I don't really need wikipedia quotes or such, but if you have links-names of interesting sources, I'd be grateful if you post!

imagine you are in a room full of mirrors and the mirrors break if you get too close to them.
that would be the pineal gland looking for its leash. but yeah i'm just speculating.
