I'm going to abuse this site to flagrantly ask help for my clarification I have to give for geography tomorrow, because it seems there are people on this board who know plenty about this subject.
The clarification has to be outgoing from the following question:

"How knowledge, creativity, insanity and accidence contributed to the development from scientific designs/theories about the universe "

So I'm kindly asking all of you to help me if you have anything, I repeat ANYTHING to say that should serve for an answer/is related to the subject in question please.

thanks in advance

The telescope was the very first tool made by man to do observations as an extention of a sense (sight). I'm sure you could do something interesting with that. Or what about heliocentrism being a slap in the face of the image humans had about themselves?

"How knowledge, creativity, insanity and accidence contributed to the development from scientific designs/theories about the universe "
I think this applies to all discoveries in science but in a varying degree. Everything in the formal system of science is obtained trough the algorithm of the scientific method. But it's just an empty husk without an idea to fuel it...
And there are 1000nds of ways an idea could come to life.

Are you doing the IB? (sounds like it)

Geography?

Do you need Geo-specific answers?

If yes:

Erathostenes of Alexandria used his mathematical knowledge to calculate the magnitude (is it the right word?).

Accidence: well, very prominent, Columbus: he searched for India and found America.

(Well, Democritus needed creativity for his Atom Model....)

Oh hell, I hope the others will be better than I am.

One of my favorite stories in this ballpark (not geography, but chemistry actually )... that is, scientific discoveries related to creativity, dreaming etc is the story of the discovery of the structure of benzene..

The new understanding of benzene, and hence of all aromatic compounds, proved to be so important for both pure and applied chemistry that in 1890 the German Chemical Society organized an elaborate appreciation in Kekulé's honor, celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of his first benzene paper. Here Kekulé spoke of the creation of the theory. He said that he had discovered the ring shape of the benzene molecule after having a reverie or day-dream of a snake seizing its own tail (this is a common symbol in many ancient cultures known as the Ouroboros). This vision, he said, came to him after years of studying the nature of carbon-carbon bonds.

Thanks a lot, I'm kinda stuck so you gave me some new material :)
@restin: clarify the IB, if it is related to studies or whatever (which is my guess) no. I'm studying free plastic arts, thats why I asked my question here, because I have little foundations geography/astronomy-wise. thx for the ideas.
Meduzz: thx mate, give me an example of how (your) ideas can come to life?

more suggestions are appreciated a lot
