Hello, I have a friend who has diabetes and wants to know if there are any problems if he will use the san pedro cactus. I dunno if there's any article about this cactus effect on persons with diabetes. Please respond!!!

Not talking from experience, but I think he should be fine. Don't take my advice as the first, wait for Goran /GOD/or drugless to respond. I do not see why it should cause any problems.

PEACE & LOVE

I'll wait for other opinions too, thnks! By the way, he asks how many persons may trip from it? The guy has a huge cactus, 85 cm long and 7 cm diameter!

I would say that would be 3 good doses, if prepared properly. How are you planning on consuming it? Tea may be your best option. Is it homegrown? Homegrowns tend to be less potent, sometime actually not even potent enough to get you 'there'. I consumed over 30 cm of 7cm thick cactus and got nothing! So don't be suprised, its sometimes a hit and miss.

PEACE & LOVE

I`ve never seen any info about diabetes and recreational drug use so i can not say anything definate . But that fact also means i havent seen and information that people with diabetes ever had problems taking recreational drugs and if there were problems we would have heard about it . Thinking about it and knowing that diabetes is a blood sugar problem i can see no way that taking recreational drugs could directly have an effect on diabetes other than that recreational drug use uses / lowers blood sugar levels = it should have no negative effects .

BUT , thats all theory . I cant tell you to do it or not to do it . Its your choice . If you do it keep your medicine near and a fon to ring a hospital , and dont do it alone .

If i were you i`d wait untill Drugless replys because he has very much knowledge of biology and a lot of experience with drugs .

Hi, your friend can take cacti without fear. Just opposite, Peyote and San Pedro cacti, mescaline containing cacti are used for diabetes treatment like cure and relief. OK, this knowledge was used by American shamans in "cure" for diabetes way. Today we know that real cure doesn't exist. Only symptom relievers or glucose level normalizers. Exactly this was Peyote and Pedro for Indians. Do not worry.

U will get out that cacti 2 doses. Two good doses. Or three with lower potency. If U and your friend are only one who will sail on trip boat, my advice is make 2 doses and "bon voyage"!I can't see sense otherwise.

the last time i took san pedro was with a type 1 diabetic and he was worried so he tested his blood every 10 minutes or so. there was no noticeable change. the same with E's, mushrooms and cannabis.

im not saying its a medical fact, only that with him, and hes quite severely diabetic, there was no marked difference in blood sugar levels. still, testing regularly, and having a glucose gel pack around is probably advisable
(ask him what to do in an emergency before the trip)

Thanks for replyes! The cactus was actually bigger about 1,20 metters or more. And it was raised in glasshouse in winter, but during summer was kept outside. The skin is very thick and I believe it is a really good and potent specimen. His intentions are to give me the top to raise, and he doesn't know for sure if to take or not to take the cactus...?This is the question!!! :x :P But if he dicides not to...then I'll have it all for myself:D

After a discussion my friend decided to join but taking all the precautions like sugar glicemy tests etc. We will do this in nature or in a house far away from modern civilization

What about stimulants then? Due to a a rised heartbeat which residents somewhere on a moderated cardiovasculair activity, carbohydrates are burnt faster so I guess the blood-sugar depletion is something to monitor?

yes, on speed and a lesser extent coke there was a slight drop in his blood sugar, but nothing really to worry about. he would get paranoid and, as i mentioned above, check every 10 mins or so. there wasnt much difference, still within the "normal" range. being interested, and having fed him glucose in the past when he was fitting, i followed his tests. surprisingly little difference. perhaps if he was running, say, he would have used less fat and more glucose

Why are U so worried by sugar level? U or your friend would not die cause of one sugar peak. U feel them all time. After lunch sugar rises sky high, then U shot yourself with insulin and experience hypoglycemia. Variations from meal to meal.
What is good advice to you. Check on net every track bout cacti and sugar level in them. I know that Pedro and Peyote doesn't contain no sugar, significant amount to say, so there is no problem or worry how much sugar do U have.
U can check sugar once, after one hour past consuming, but another measure and another will make your trip like hell! Mind under sugar terror! If your blood-sugar level is fine after first check don't do them any more. Spirits of cacti will take care of it, trust me, do not worry. 8) :)

Okay, one more question, about the top of the cactus> How much should I save to grow another one? how many cm?
diameter 7 cm :?:
And we found some ant tunnels and ants also, I guess we took their hotel or something 8) We wonder if the presence of ants forced the cactus to raise the mescaline content, guessing it's the only way to fight against any invadors***except for us   :!:  :? 8)

Ants are fine. I suppose U have good roots? Cause ants could use rotten parts of cacti for their castle. But I think that everything is fine.
More alkaloids? Probably no. Maybe if they are plant-lice farmers, and your cacti is infested with it. This could be problem but your cacti will produce more alkaloids in this situation. Lice is problem for plants, leafy but cacti, no.

Cut couple pieces for propagation. I have succeeded once to grow cacti from 0,4cm thick slice!!!
But for such thickness the best size is 5-6cm. And do not worry if second cut doesn't have "full" top. Cacti will make new roots, upper part will become dry and 1-5 sprouts will come out of it. When they grow like 3-5cm cut them and plant as new small Pedro. This way U can get 2-7 Pedro's in one year! I am using this cloning way for about 3 years and cacti gives every year more and more.

Hi!
:D
I write now just to say that I skinned and despined half of the cactus. I descarded the core so now we have a core that we intend to make a tea with, a bunch of spines with green tissue that is potent as far as I know...another tea from them combined with the skin. While working with cactus my hands and fingers became sticky, and in the end I sucked my fingers :) I feel like on ecs...but today I drank wine with blue and white lilly and kratom and...
well
I woinder how mych the cactus could stay outside without it's skin. Right now it's in a bowl. I know cuttings can stay for months in normal temperatures, but a skinned cactus chopped into pieces? I don't think I may be able to finish the job until I go to bed, I'll just boil it tomorrow. Will the fridge do some good? Cuz I read from around here that it must be an ice cream machine to break the cell walls...

Its dead . Throw the middle away it contains next to nothing and an extract would either be very big , fatty and snot like or you could purify it but that would take ages , lots of chemicals and money and you wouldnt get much out of it . To brake the cells down a bit you dont need an ice cream maker you need an ice box where it goes down to minus 20°C . Boiling it will do the same .
