The salvia I have is kept in a small plastic bag, within a larger aluminum one. I had forgotten I had also left a bag of cannabis in it also, in a separate baggie, but next to the salvia. They had been next to each other, in the aluminum bag for about two months. I was going to give salvia another try but decided to go with the cannabis instead.

This happened a couple weeks ago, by the way:

As soon as I took one hit I got an incredible head rush, and the smoke was unusually hot. extremely hot, in fact; it burned the back of my throat and took two bottles of water to sooth it. A few minutes after I seemed to lose almost all the energy from my limbs (just a really weird feeling). I then began to feel like how I feel on salvia (3-second memory span, tingly feeling, compression feeling, blurred vision, physically exhausted, yet somehow good feeling). After about what seemed like 20 minutes, though I had a clock and only 3 minutes had passed, I was able to get up and move around. Slightly confused, I put in the movie "The Fall". A bit into the movie, I kept anticipating something to happen. Though I had never seen the movie before, I felt like I had. I "knew" something was going to happen, and that it was going to be hilarious. I kept thinking the guy in the bed (if you've seen this movie before) was going to start laughing manically, scaring the little girl. This anticipation; feeling of constant deja-vu persisted throughout the entire movie. The whole time I was watching I felt like it was about to happen, and then I would be like "okay, now I KNOW it's about to happen", though It never did.

those were the mental aspects. The physical, however, seemed just as strange, if not even more so. I would be sitting down, and every time I moved around, I would not feel myself moving. It was as if I had lost my sense of touch. It was like I was a mass of energy and when I repositioned my body, It was as If my body was morphing to fit the space I was moving into. (very hard to explain). This feeling, along with the mental aspect of deja-vu lasted for about 2 hours. After this, I had this thought that just wouldn't leave my mind. I kept thinking that I had seen this movie before, in a parallel reality.

The reason for my curiosity is that I have never experienced these effects, for this long (+3 hours) before with anything, and was wondering if there had been some reaction between the two "substances". The cannabis did taste a bit like salvia, but I wasn't sure If that was from the residue of the pipe or not.

any ideas? haha

If you think there was enough salvia in the pipe to have a slight effect, I don't see why it couldn't. I've tried smoking a bit of salvia right before a joint with a friend of mine, and we both agree that the high is quite different (and salvia-ish).

Depends on the extract, really. I've smoked hash, then 60x Salvia after about 60 mins of being high. The effects are really insane (kinda like being hella drunk and hella stoned at the same time, only more intense and with amazing visuals) and kinda bad for meditation in my view. I'd rather stick to one drug at a time.

But! The combination of the two seems to make the bodily effects of Salvia linger for longer than it likely is. :P

As for residue-- Salvia tends to 'die' once it's smoked. You can't get any effect from the ash like you can with Cannabis. So it likely was a mixed reaction for you.
(:

How long had it been since you last smoked cannabis before this experience?

Cannabis is a powerful psychedelic in its own right and can have idiosyncratic effects, especially following periods of abstinence. It also has the propensity to reiterate psychedelic experiences.

It has also been noted that THC is a partial kappa-opioid agonist, the same receptor which is responsible for salvias effects.

I highly doubt that there would be any interaction between the two substances in storage conditions.

It is possible however that residue from previous salvia smoking could have been a contributing factor to your experience, since salvinorins have high boiling points. Depends on how well/often you clean your pipe.

Peace

i put both in a grinder and mix them up sometimes... its weird sometimes. especially when i forget i did that. haha. envix your avatar made me smile. anyone watched xavier on psychedelics? it still doesnt make sense :)
