I think its easyer to grow peyote hydrophonicly , dirt/earth/humus tends to stay wet to long and peyote doesnt like that . Get some sand and small stones from a clean stream , one with fish in it . and / or bits of clean smashed up plaster board from a building site ( without the paper bits ) . The sand should be about 2 - 3 mm. and the stones up to 5 mm . You could also use sieved clean sand from a kids school playground sandpit instead of the sand from a stream . Remember the smaller the sand the longer and the more water it holds wich is not good for them . Put it somewhere at 10 - 15 c wich is light but not in direct sunlight and water it once now and wait till it recovers . I take it that its getting near autum where you are so that means at the end of next spring . They dont like cold , draughts and water in winter , if they start to shrivel in winter give them a LITTLE water ONCE... and pray that they dont faul . Once they start to faul throw them away , or if you are a whore like me dry them quick and eat them . The roots contain next to no medicine so dont eat them . They have a dormant phase in winter when they like to be left alone . Generaly dont touch them ,turn them round or move the pots , exept once in spring when you can put them outside , but not in direct sunlight . They like to be close to other peyotes but not other cacti . Dont water them unless its warm weather and no more than once a month and then only a little bit . You can give them a normal cacti fertiliser , dont give them any other type of fertiliser .
