is it just me, or does everybody seem to remember moments within classic psychedelic trips in the third person?

as in, you can almost see your own body tripping, not just remembering the situation?

On my first mushroom experience I saw myself destoying myself with all kinds of drugs and was like:"WTF dude? There's something wrong with this picture"

But I also recall moments like the one you mentioned yes :D
The moment of really being "the Observer"

On my strongest trip ever I was curled up in a foetal position in my bed. I could see myself from the third person, and I was a baby. I was very comfortable and did not want to be born.

Same trip, some aliens appeared from the ceiling, and they grabbed my hand, only it wasn't my body's hand, it was my mind's hand. I could control this hand, and see it even though it was pitch black, I think it was orange. It felt like I had two bodies and like one could fly away from the other. They looked like they were worried for me, and I had the impression that they wanted me to go with them. One of them bit my hand. It didn't hurt. It looked at me reassuringly.

I got scared.

"No! go away! Im not ready for this! Please leave, please leave."

Eventually they went away, disappointed.

I just re-read your question and maybe I misunderstood, I was talking about seeing the trip in third person in real time while it happens but you were talking about remembering it that way? But yes, when I look back on my trips it is almost as if I can see the look on my face when I was tripping. Usually this look

yeah, like, when you remember a moment during the trip, you can see yourself from outside... not necessarily an OBE during the trip, though...

anyway, the face i usually have when i remember is this one...

maybe the experience of the trip is so different from "normal life" that your mind makes you believe that the experience was outside yourself, trying to force you to stay "normal"? Could be a defence reaction.

Alot of my trips are in 3rd person, not OBE, but I always imagine my view, simultaneously with another. I always want to get the "big" picture of whats going on

On most of my trips there is a no-person point of view, so it would be logical if my memories aren't from the first person.

restin a dit:
