Well, you mentioned a couple of days ago that Spores is your original ID, so I'm glad it was still available!

I had a look, but I don't think I can revive Space-is-the-Place. Can't you register that name again?

You can still find some pages in cache if you do a Google search, but for the rest everything's gone...

2 questions need to be answered because if that can happen anything can happen = a site disaster . How did it happen ? Why did it happen ?

Is there a site software log ? Or a server log ? That logs errors and / or changes .

Spores did something unusual. He mentioned it to me in a private message. Not sure if I should post it here, because if anyone would want to delete everything they ever wrote (which would make many threads incoherent), that would be the way...

Yes, and in this case that someone was Space himself... Still trying to sort it out though. I'm waiting for a reply from Spores. Perhaps we can still try something. However, I just saw that Space-is-the-Place was registered as a new user today, so I guess the old situation cannot be restored.

I'll send you a PM describing what went wrong.

Administrators can delete accounts. But they need a very good reason for that. If I would delete your account, all discussions you have participated in will become incomprehensible. For example, you have written over 800 posts, many posted within recent times. Deleting your account would result in 800 gaps in conversations. All threads started by you would be deleted as well (it seems from Space's example), including News items and other pages we'd rather keep for future reference. Deleting the account of a prominent member means deleting the contributions of many of the other members as well. Some of those contributions took hours to write. Do you still want to erase your account?

the threads i started are something that someone else could have started, i.e. they have no technical data.
the posts i've made are not irreplaceble, like spice's, heartcore's, god's, goran's, etc.
