In this fortnight's edition of psychonautica, Max Freakout discusses the hippie movement of the sixties, debates about its successes and failures, the ambiguity of the word hippie, and also debates about Tim Leary ad Ken Kesey, and who was really responsible for ending scientific research into psychedelics. Also Max talks bout the implications of the discovery of psychedelic shamanism, and cultural values as paranoid neurosis. Next Max talks about lucid dreaming and its eficacy as a tool for regenerative healing, the difficulty of learning how to trigger lucid dreams at will, sleep paralysis, the film 'Waking Life' and oneirology, the study of dreams. Finally Max talks about the entheogenic origins of tantra, amrita the 'sacred elixir', cannabis and datura, then reads out a Salvia/Cannabis trip report.

I listened to it just now. Nice podcast again.

Regarding sleep paralysis, I do think I know a way to trigger it, but I don't think it's something we should purposefully seek out.

The Sanskrit word amrita comes from the word mrityus, which means death (amrita meaning that which makes immortal), similar to the Greek word ambrosia which comes from the brotos, which means mortal.
