Hello everone. newbie here when it comes to Cactuses, so Im not sure if the thread should be placed here or in the synthetics part. But I suppose it will fit right in here :wink:
I will soon get some pretty old Peyote's and Im wondering a good and simpel way of extracting the mescaline in it or make a tea of it.


I have heard that you can cook the cactus and some water for some hours and will get kind of a dough with the mescaline, would you recommend this or do you have a better way for a first timer?

Find yourself a good acid-base extraction recipe. Remember, mescaline at low pH is protonated and water-soluble, at high pH (12+, pKb of mescaline is around 12) the mescaline is soluble in an organic solvent like toluene, xylene, naphta,...
That and some logic will help you out finding a good tek.

Erowid can help you, also if you're just going for the tea, which might be better than extraction in low amounts.

I was wondering, does anyone know the minimal amount of cacti/mescaline to make an extraction preferable over the tea method?

hey! welcome to the forums!

my personal favourite preperation for cactus is pretty simple. all the supplies you will need are: 4 oranges, a non aluminum pot, a stove, a blender, and some water.

first off, take your cacti and put it into the blender. you want to pulverize it into a slime (you dont want to have big chunks) then take your cacti juice and put it in a non aluminum pot. add roughly 1/2 water to your cacti, (so its 1 part cacti, .5 water) then squeeze your Oranges into a juice, (removing all seeds) and add into the pot. your going to want to bring the cacti juice up to a high simmer (making sure it does NOT boil, this is VERY important). if you boil the cacti, not only will the pot boil over so quickly that you wont know what to do with yourself, but your also killing the alkaloids. simmer this pot of cacti snot for about 3 hours, adding water to make sure that it doesnt get too thick, then let it cool. once it cools, you can drink er down.

Iv found this simple tea extraction makes the cacti effects come on faster and much stronger. Enjoy!

No need for so big preps, and chemistry help. Just cook slices in pot in low boiling water. Sugar can help in some way. But bitterness soesn' go away with sweets

Extracting mescaline from a peyote.

Don't hunt after one alkaloid which is relatively a bummer compared to the power of the peyote. It contains many alkaloids which are working synergetic.

If you want to consume peyote, you should do between 6 or 12 buttons. Although it's more rewarding to collect even more and do them well prepared in a period with rest and lots of spare time in the proper setting on an empty stomach. Chewing them is actually the most efficient way, although many want to puke. While I have experienced proper preperation prevents this.

If you want enter the matrix space, or take off through a tunnel and dream lucid, one shouldn't be limited in his consumption or plans.

Peyote is very special since it has became rare, it is by far the most grand, cosmic and phenomenal entheogen ever known.

Finally some humor beside anger and anxiety between members!
My English is relatively good, suppose better then half of todays members. But late at end of the day, when I use something to relax(from booze to killer dope-but haven't use it long time-years) my mind is divided to 24 sections! Even more! Even now I don't feel really sane! Thats why sometimes U will see weird posts. Also one other thing is trouble when interpreting thoughts to English words. Croatian lang! ...........that may be true in your part of the country, but here in Mexico where I live it's abundant......also some friends have had success grafting peyote on to a San Pedro cactus with good results......I thought I just add that.....java/solo
