This is off topic and even out of character but a gringo surfer friend of mine cruised thru Lima on his way back to the states today and he came back with the remnants of a $50-10G rock of coke, it weighed 5G here!, he it bought up on the coast of northern Perú last week. He broke it out and asked if I wanted to sample it.
I have been in Perú for 3 months and cocaine is not on my "favorite's" list, but like he said, to actually be in Perú and not sample the legend at it's source... so he cut us out a couple of nice lines and we rolled a bill for a straw.
I was truly surprised, there was no taste of ether, or anything else for that matter. The lift off was nearly instantaneous. I dislike coke for numerous reasons including the length of the ride and the lack of intensity it has for me, but these few modest lines showed me there is indeed something to it here, still not my cup o' tea but heh.
The rush was nearly dizzying, I wet my finger and wiped the glass surface for the tiny bit of leavings and touched it to my tongue. We were walking thru an open air market nearby 30 minutes later and I noticed the roof of my mouth getting numb, after 2 hours my nose was as numb as if I had a shot of novocaine from a dentist! The effects lingered for several hours afterwards. This was from an insignificant amount of powder that I almost wiped into the trash!
I was thoroughly impressed by the quality and totally floored by the price, but cocaine has a black cloud of bad karma following it that I want no part of, nice place to visit....
This is just a random post about a random happening here en Perú and I thought I'd share.
Namaste ;^)

interesting!! why do you think cocaine has a black cloud of bad karma following it? i want no part of it as well.... the numbness feeling in the jaw i had it too when i once tried it... i guess it was indeed of good quality what you were having!!...

peace :weedman:

You seriously ask? I say bad karma follows it because of the friends and acquaintances through the years I have seen loose jobs, houses, spouses and their freedoms, both figuratively and literally to cocaine.
Coke takes its regular users on a journey of addiction & despair. I have watched from afar for decades and plan to keep my distance.
I'll stick to my "mind candy" thank you very much.

you're right i understand now!!!!... it's also the way how it was made and comes to you and with which persons etc etc... but then i would think it has nothing to do you with you if you take it ... however i understand what you mean with karma to it and that you don't want any of it and neither do i.

BrainEater, the very way it's made and comes to you where it picks up the negative energy, think of all of the pain and suffering that it spreads en route to the local coke dealer from it's source in the poorest part's of the western hemisphere, funded with "end user" dollars..
Much like opium from the east, which is on my fav list, it taints everything and everyone it touches along the way. In large part from the world's governments attempting to control human nature, a deeply flawed approach imo. The war on drugs is truly a war on ourselves, we as a species have been finding ways to alter our consciousness since we stood erect for the first time and that any government entity believes it can "regulate" that, in any shape form or fashion, is beyond ludicrous.
Like any drug I think it should be legal, we have to be treated as responsible self determining beings, not juveniles. I think many of those who muddy the genetic pool would eradicate themselves from our breeding stock within 5 years and ...

Sorry, I just realized I was on a soap box... ;^)

Yeah...

It's not because of addiction people loose themselves, it's because of how it transforms your dreams.

Welcome to the logos...

But seriously, there's a lot of blood on cocaine even before it is snorted. The environmental damage alone that its production causes is horrific. Tons of kerosene and acid are spilled into the columbian rain forests every day from illegal coca extraction places.
Just watch this extract from a bbc docu
...and you'll never want to snort coke again.

Then imagine how many lives it costs until the drug is on the European or American market. The drug basically has whole countries in a stranglehold, and the more money we spend on coke, the tighter its grip...
