L'albero originario dello Sri Lanka, Indonesia, contiene nei semi queste due molecole mortali e TOSSICHE.
Però, in dosi moderate è considerato in India come nootropico-tonico mentale.
Le due molecole sono:
Brucina:
(LD [SUB]50[/SUB] (rats, oral) 1 mg/kg, LD[SUB]50[/SUB] (rabbit, oral) 4 mg/kg)
Strictina:
NUV VOMICA 1:50 TINCTURE
1) Put 1 gram of seeds (usually about 1 seed is 1 gram) in 50 ml of vinegar. Let soak covered for 5 days.
2) Remove seed with tweezers. Carefully slice into small pieces using a small knife. Do not touch it with your hands. Using a mortar and pestle grind the pieces to a paste with 1 gram of lactose as a grinding aid. Without the lactose it's very hard to grind to a paste.
3) Scrape the paste out of the mortar using a small spoon (don't touch it). Place in a jar. Rinse out the mortar with the used vinegar from step 1 a little at a time, and add the vinegar to the jar. With all the paste and vinegar in the jar, carefully mix it. Then cap the jar and let sit overnight. Shake it periodically.
4) Filter out the solids. Measure the vinegar so that you have 50 ml exactly. If you have a little less, add some more until you have 50 ml exactly.
If using 1 gram of seeds for 50 ml of vinegar then 1 dose is 1 ml of vinegar, with the potency of 20 mg of seeds. That will contain on average 246 micrograms of strychnine. That's plenty enough for decent stimulant effects. Even half that would be pretty decent.
You don't want to take a dose higher than 50 mg of seeds ever. In India, 50 mg of seed is the maximum safe dose for adults. Don't over do it. An overdose is extremely painful, and deadly. With a 1:50 tincture, 2.5 ml equals 50 mg of seed. Never take more than that.
Keep in mind that you DO NOT WANT TO GRIND DRY SEEDS. That is very dangerous. If you breathe in a cloud of powdered seed dust, you could easily be killed from it, or so I've heard. The reason I posted this tech is because I don't want people trying to extract it and getting hurt. Only grind the seeds when they are thoroughly moistened. That way it's impossible to generate a cloud of deadly Nux vomica dust. Besides, it's next to impossible to grind them when they are dry. You could very easily damage your herb grinder. They are one of the hardest things in the plant kingdom to grind. When wet, with the aid of lactose, it's not that hard. That's the way to do it.
Also, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING while extracting. Don't touch the wet seeds with your hands. Don't touch the vinegar the seeds were soaking in. Strychnine can soak into your skin.
Also, DO NOT PROCESS MORE THAN 1 GRAM AT A TIME. Doing a larger batch is very dangerous. With 1 gram, if you accidentally spilled everything and got strychnine all over you, you're likely to be ok. 1 gram would contain about 12 mg of strychnine on average. If that much spilled on you, you're likely to be ok. Most would be easily washed off. But if you were processing a ton of seeds and you spilled a bunch on yourself...well, you get the picture.
Non esistono tinture vendute in europa che io sappia, solo rimedi omeopatici che danno effetti.
E' uno dei pochi stimolanti che ovviamente non viene preso in considerazione, perchè basta poco per una overdose.
Occhio sempre :snakeman:

Strychnine was once extremely popular as a stimulant. If it wasn't so easy to OD on it, it would still be popular. The downside is its potency. It's just way too potent. You can feel 100 micrograms of it. It's nearly as potent as LSD is. It also has effects that are mind expanding, much like LSD has, but it's not hallucinogenic at all. It makes you see clearer, hear better, improves your sense of touch, things smell stronger. Sex is better. It makes you more aware of things around you. It improves your memory and concentration. It doesn't have the edginess of caffeine. It's one of the best stimulants there is, but also the most toxic. That's the downside.
E ci dice come fare una tintura:
You need to be very careful making a tincture of Nux Vomica. An active safe adult dose is commonly 10-50 mg of powdered seed. They contain 1.54-5.3% alkaloids. About 1/2 is strychnine, with the rest mostly brucine. An average nut contains 1.23% strychnine and 1.55% brucine. 5.3% alkaloid content is the maximum known to exist.
A dose of 1-3 mg of strychnine was often given by doctors for stimulant usage in adults. In India, doses of 10-50 mg of powdered seed is usually used for the same purpose. 50 mg contains on average 615 micrograms of strychnine and 775 micrograms of brucine.
50 mg of the most potent seeds containing 5.3% alkaloids (usually 50% or less is strychnine) could at most contain 2.65 mg of strychnine, but it's usually more than 50% brucine so you're more likely to get a maximum of only 1.325 mg of strychnine from that much seed.
Activity is solely based on the strychnine content because it's many times more potent than brunice.
A fatal adult dose of strychnine is said to be 30-120 mg orally (much less if injected). Keep in mind that doctors routinely gave patients up to 3 mg several times a day. With 50 mg of seed containing less than 3 mg it is well within the safety zone.
Strychnine is SWIM's favorite stimulant. He uses 500 micrograms at most. Often just 100 micrograms is enough.
If you're going to make a tincture, which SWIM has done, you need to be very careful. It's next to impossible to grind the seeds to a powder. If you inhale the powder, you could get an overdose and die. You don't want to grind the seeds while dry. You don't want any powder in the air.
Here's how to do it safely.
