no mushroom growth in the center

hello all
bought the cubensis kit from azarius... mushrooms grow after 2 weeks of waiting BUT they only grow 1 cm around the growbox.. there is no growth in the center of it... just white and a little green mould... is it normal? can i do anything about it?

I have a growbox of p. cubensis in my room and it looks the same as yours. They are only growing in the sides, coming from the gaps that have formed between the cake and the plastic box. Many of them are squashed agains the plastic and couldn't even appear on the top. It's a sad thing to watch. Only 2 or 3 are scaping from the bottom.

I also need help about it too. What shouldi do? Wait and havest those two or three shrooms and then repeat the proccedure and wait for them to grow in the top? Should i remove the cake from the plastic box and put it on a bigger one?

As the growbox was broken in one of its bottom corners (mail delivery systems fault), i couldn't put it above water for 6 hours. Is it ok to do it in my next try?

Or maybe i should turn it upside down and make the bottom become the top. I heard someone talking about that somewhere in the forum and it seems to make all the sense. They seem to grow better from the bottom of the cakes than from the top.

The problem with turning the cake is that you have a large chance to infect your shrooms. Infected mushrooms (nice band by the way :drum: ) are pretty dangerous. You can get in hospital for it!

About no mushroom growth in the center... I don't know it seems that a lot (yeah a lot!) of people seem to have that problem. What I would do is just wait till this harvest is done and then wait for the new growth...

My guess is that the shrooms were printed on the sides only. Then when the second harvest comes your whole box is going to be covered with shrooms...

When your box cracks you got a problem. The box has to be intact and you have to take extreme care with growing shrooms. Make sure you work with sterile gloves (if you need 'em) and work in an environment as sterile as possible!

my shrooms are growing around the box and not in the center... not in the sides as you my friend.. i think its because there was some green mold in the center.

i have scraped some greenish thing with a sterile surgical blade, and i fan some air and spray some water in the bag every now and then.. is it ok to eat the shrooms? how will i know if theyre dangerous?
