i'm planning to do a lord of the rings marathon on mushrooms with some friends :P

Amélie (le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) is no drama, but it's my favorite. It is one of the most creative movies I know. The music of Yann Tiersen is also very good. Even without mushrooms.

Willy wonka and the chocolate factory is genious, I loved that movie :D

Yea a few movies didn't really fit any genres or fits more than one so I just stuck them in the best i could ;)

kccar, I think it's funny that you list so many good movies and then throw in Bubbleboy or Pokemon. Really Pokemon? You didn't include Snatch or L4yercake. I know it's been out for a while but I just saw Crash for the first time. Fucking excellent. Any of you who haven't seen this movie, do yourselves a favor and go rent it. I think it's the most moving story since Forest Gump. Only much more intense.

Layer Cake is in the list. The list on the bottom are suggestions people gave on a similar thread on a different forum. I obviously haven't watched all them so I just stuck them there as added suggestions. I kept the ones I recommended and have seen on top. I personally wouldn't waste my trip on pokemon but someone might find it funny.

Edit: Bubble Boy is great ;) I can see why some people wouldn't like it but it snatched my intrest even watched the commentary ;)

The deep blue. A documentary about life in the sea. Especially the end scenes, where you are taken to the deepest darkness of the ocean, where all kinds of fish are luminating in all kinds of disco colors.

The movie is made by the BBC.

Gotta keep an eye out for that. Looks Pretty damn sweet :)

Sidenote I'm adding Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind to the list. Watched it last night and wow. I find it funny I've watched this movie 2 or 3 times sober watched it again and I never realised how trippy and perfect it is :).

If you like Amélie, you should love Léolo. I did.

Watch craptastic movies while you're stoned people!

King Ralph
Coming to America
Back to School

You need to watch raunchy horror films from the 70s & 80s, and terribly insane hokey crap from the 80s!

The original Post's list is too long, go join a god damn community like RottenTomatoes.com. I'm a member, and that's why I mention that it's a better place for that impending index. I'm not reading it all.

I wonder what you people thought of the film "What The Bleep Do We Know?". I think it's title and case are fucking horrible, but it's content is quite interesting. I'd suggest a rent of it for sure, especially while tripping.

Léolo does sound really cool. I'll have to check it out. The long part of the list is like I said what people have suggested that you watch while high. I myself haven't seen any of them. If I have it was when sober. The list above it is my own personal recommendations.

What the bleep do we know is as far as I remember of it a pretty interesting movie. Not interesting enough to find it's way into my memories though. If you can find it watch it if not it's not watch I'd call mind blowing.

What the bleep was a terrible script with very interesting ideas. So the story was crap, but there is a lot to be learned from this movie about life. About addiction for example. The movie shows everybody is addicted to things, without knowing it: addicted to selfpity, addicted to egocentrism, addicted to the feeling that you're not in control and everything happens to you, etc. An eye-opener, this movie!

i guess i like the mind fucks:
waking life, donnie darko, two of my favorite movies of all time, at waking life i was a bit drunk, watching movies a bit drunk can be very funny/trippy, i watched the pirates of the caribbean on champagne, it was really trippy, then as soon as the alcohol worked out is was really boring.
but for me the " mind fucks" are very awakening, very clarifying. love them.

comedies:
a fish called wanda
drama:
the godfather thrilogy (maybe good on joins, whisky)

i once saw " once upon a time in america" while smoking a joint, was amazing, really got in the movie, that part when the girl is dancing and young de niro is watching, beautiful. then it got boring, lol

once my exboyfriend and his brother saw " once upon the time in the west" sniffing coke. and " hook" (the peter pan story) on acid.

a film that can make you feel as if you took lots of drugs is " fear and loading in las vegas".

" casino" should be nice on coke.

alice

Big Fish... trippy scenery :D... evenso the Austin Powers series is really crazy when being inmensly stoned...

There is a new movie out, "Down the Rabbit Hole" by the same person who did "What the Bleep" The script as you said sucked on the original, and they use the same footage for bits and pieces. However, there is more information, it asks you how far your want to go on the journey of relearning reality. They elaborate on a a few of the same ideas and have most of the same scientists. I highly recommend it if you liked "What the Bleep Do We Know?"

Good call on Memento and Yellow Submarine!! Check out the jacket, it is a little tripped out sober, i havent tried it on anything as of yet.

Randomness: Watched MTV2 shrooming with BAM and a bunch of Lil John and the Yin Yang Twins, oh my gawd! We laugh so hard at them. It was so easy to see through of their BS we made fun of them for hours, and then felt guilty til he said his little "YEEEEA!" thing, then we laughed some more.

While I prefer mind trips, entertainment can be fun sometimes!

I think "drama" is the right term for Amélie. What else would it be? Action? War-movie? Eastern? Western? Surely not!

I usually hate TV when high, but this time i was not alone and I saw the beginning of "Time Masters". It was incredibly psychedelic, I even saw some brain designs(like on some psychedelic drawings) coming from the pictures (it's an anime), but I can't find the picture I saw on the net now (closest is Petfles 's avatar...). I'm getting it now and I will see if it was me beeing really high (I was..) or if it is really the movie.
Unfortunately i was the only one who had taken psychedelics, and the others didn't want to watch it as it is kinda slow and the voices really minimal with horrible voices in french...but I look forward to seeing it completely.

I still didn't see "The Truman show". I know there is a part in the movie where Filmmusic composer Philip Glass plays a piece on piano in that movie, and it's called: "Truman sleeps". He composed it himself, like the other music in the movie.

Philip Glass is known for the repetitive music and you might recognize the patterns you see and hear when tripping on magic mushrooms, because I know that's where he gets inspiration from.

i don't remember that in the Trumeman Show but Philip Glass sucks ass if you want my opinion ;o) Well actually only know his string quartets, but it's damn boring...maybe when high it's different but otherwise beark
