DoseNation brings us this happy news:
Michigan legalizes medical marijuana

We all know the big news about yesterday's election, but there was also a medical marijuana bill that passed amidst all the hope:

"Michigan voters have approved a ballot proposal that legalizes the use of marijuana for severely ill patients.
With 33 percent of the precincts reporting, 63 percent, or 847,244 people, voted "yes" on Proposal 1. Thirty-seven percent, or 491,593 voters, were opposed.
The proposal removes state penalties for registered patients to buy, grow, and use small amounts of marijuana."

63 to 37 in favor of medical marijuana? Wow, you sure the machines weren't rigged on that one?

In other news, Massachusetts voters have decriminalized possession of up to an ounce of marijuana favoring minor fines instead of criminal penalties for personal use. This measure also passed by a margin of 65 to 35. Hells yeah.

Great news, hopefully a sign of things to come.

yeah, really great news. friends were sending text messages around the country when this went through yesterday!

in bad news, proposition 8 passed (barely) in california. two steps forward, one step backwards, as the old saying goes...

That's really good news. I never thought that there where so much people who would vote positive for medical cannabis usage. I hope this will also influence the rest of the world.

Now the South East Coast needs to jump on the band wagon!
