I've always wondered -

Why does receiving a light show when your rolling feel so good?

Everyone just accepts that it does, but I haven't met anybody who's stopped to actually consider why?

What's going on inside your brain ?

ROFL, Fork :P
I say "oooohhhhhh lights" and, chemical reactions in your brain. ;) I wouldn't be able to say what exactly, but I'm sure someone else might have a good idea. :D

LOL

Chemical reactions yes - But it's more than just blunt visual stimulation, you know? The amount of "feel good" you get from a light show is linked to the skill of the light show giver. The more badass he/she is, the more your jaw drops and your eyes widen

Watch massive fireworks, you're going absolutely insane.

For a start your pupils are hugely dilated which means they take in a lot more light, making coulors seem more intense.... i'm sure that theres a more scientific reason, but thats just my two cents...

To answer that question for real, we'd have to know how MDMA works, which we don't exactly :)

But, I expect that the pedantic reason is that your visual centers are as sensitive to stimulation as your sense of touch is, or smell. Under MDMA you are responding to stimulus more "profoundly", and the scaling effect is likely due to pattern matching in your brain that is specific to the ways in which MDMA is arranging your learning and sensory centers. So, in other words, NOT on MDMA you might not even enjoy the show that much. ON MDMA it is profound, because it is specific to the drug's effect. Light show performers have probably learned better patterns over time just through trial and error, and through experimenting while on MDMA themselves. Same with DJs and music.

Fantastic answer my friend! I think you pretty much nailed it 8)

The real question would be why do we think colors are pretty.

And that ends up going into values.

But basically anything that you think would look remotely cool sober, is bound to look fantastic with all that dopamine and serotonin flowing :D
