from norml.org...

California’s highly publicized effort to legalize the commercial cultivation and sale of cannabis is getting some well-deserved company!

A pair of bills — House Bill 2929 and Senate Bill 1801 — seeking to “tax and regulate the cannabis industry

hehe

are things finally starting to change about cannabis ?

I hope legalisation (and taxation) will come true , and I hope it will be a message for european countries

Did you know , in France , what the governementt says about cannabis ?, it's nearly the same than the US when cannabis prohibition has started

"tell your children"
"marijuana cause death"
"marjiuana makes you violent"
"marijuana will bring you in psychosis"
...

Change! like with Obama?

It's funny how to see how people fall again and again in the same trap of propaganda, if people knew their history people would know:

'Their is nothing new under the sun that's not written down from genesis to revalation' as they say. T

the same shit with power and money from so called leaders is going on from thousands of years.

US propaganda for making hemp during WO II:

And what happend after to the farmers and making it illegal again(must see!):

People should live their own lives and not concern with politics and propaganda all the time! (bit of topic maybe and not personal to anyone but I read to much bullshit what has nothing to do psychonauts)

somehow i doubt its going to pass unfortunately

i hope it passes it'll keep me from havin to go to cali if they pass it :)

Damn to many articles about legalization lately... is the world awakening? I hope Jahvisions is wrong :\

I am not saying it can't happen. I am just saying if they government needs it now for money they propably do it, but remember things will change back just as easily when it becomes a thread for them, and then you are as easily put in jail as before.

I do agree

legalization is a good thing, but legalizing for the bad reasons ... hm,

Hopefully if this passes smugglers into the UK will force us to legalize it fingers crossed.

Well, alcohol was also legalized for 'bad reasons', but it did solve a lot of problems. I don't care if they legalize cannabis for financial reasons, as long as kids and young mothers are no longer put in jail for buying or selling pot. Once it's legal, more people will speak in favor of the plant, thus removing the stigma that it now has. Even the Christian congregation can again come to appreciate the plant as one of God's special creations, as many Christian Americans already do today.

I think that maybe the most important fact behind the legalization bills in Cali and now in Mass. is that it reflects not only the publics changing view on canabis, but the changing view of the policy makers as well.

Before it was taboo to suguest anything other than stomping drug users/dealers into submission and for a politicain to come out with a bill like this would have been political suicide. Now, be it in presuit of tax revenue, public safety, over-crowded prisons...ploticians are more ready to speak out against a failed system.

The more this kind of legislation is brought to the table (wether it passes or is defeated) the more it brings discussion about drugs into the public eye. It is becoming more fashionable for people to discuss drug use openly making it much easier for enlightened people to get their points across.

The public (drug users or not) are now saying "yes...we know people use drugs and that the old control messures are not working. So lets come to the table and work somthing out that is beneficial for both sides."

It may take a while but I see only good coming from this.

you're right

I think (at least I hope) cannabis will be legal in almost all countries within a few years, and maybe , later, most of the drugs will.

What matters now is starting to talk openly

I think it's time to the US to dust off the layer of dust of the Constitution and RE-READ!!!!!!

The 'government' was established to do ONLY what the States could not do for themselves. To PROVIDE for the common wealth of the PEOPLE who make up the Country!!

If, especially in current times, a grown, mature adult decides to engage in recreational drug use in the privacy of his own home; who has the right to say that is wrong, so long as he does not then engage in activities that would otherwise endanger individuals who have chosen to abstaine from the use of drugs, IE don't Turn on, tune in, drop out then go drive to the movies.

If what I do in the privacy of my own home, or acceptable places of use, and I can still go to work (if I'm lucky enough to have a job and home) and be a productive member of society, then who has the right to take that away? no one should.

Alot of the talk against drugs is that 'we' use them to escape from stressful environments. Well my answer to that is simply this, remove the need to escape from 'reality', because currently taking a 'clear' look around the world and actually paying attention to ALL that's going on is more depressing than the 'establishments' description of the drug world.

"Normal" people go on killing spree's, those that seem otherwise normal people who perform in a socially acceptable model go home and beat their wives, kill them, gloat to their friends. Why not outlaw human contact, or domestic unions all together, can't beat your wife if you can't have one to beat right!

I could talk about the flaws in the system until 'judgement' day, which is gonna go down all T3 style! lol j/k

Lol, you make it seem like anyone cares about the Constitution anymore. ;)
