Hi guys, Simple question really.

I've been keen to try both of these psychonautics for quite some time now, and after the neccisary preperation and research, I've got a hold of both and am now wondering which I should experience first.

The setting for both will be in my room, lights off with a lamp or candle going. Havn't completely decided on whether I'll have a sitter or not. Unfortunatly, even when on cannabis, I tend to get so caught up in my own head that I kinda forget what's going on outside and become paranoid about functioning normally with those around me.

If I did have a sitter, It would be my best friend turned girlfriend, who is virtually the only person I will smoke with after months of practice ;P I trust her completely, and wouldn't even consider anyone else.
She is adamant she will not try either substance, but has said that she wants to be with me - even if in the next room - while I try them, however I am still cautious of how even this will effect my experience (Eg. transfering all my anxiety or paranoia of her being in the next room into a bad arse wooden door monster who wants to consume my soul for tresspassing... ;P)

I'm quite interested in the quote "Mushrooms are ideal for getting back in touch with your roots....LSD is for reaching out with your branches.", and was just wondering if anyone has had/faced this dilema, and for any advice on which to try first :)

I'd recommend mushrooms to you, I think they are better suited for indoor alone tripping than LSD is. with LSD I feel that I need at least a little input, such as other people, landscapes, or even festivals. not so with mushrooms, the experience felt complete of itself without further input. when done alone, LSD felt a bit cold, whereas mushrooms had a warm feeling to them.
but those views come from experiences I had - everybody reacts different.

I wish you a good trip :D

Thanks for your reply :)

Yeh, that's mostly what I'm hearing - that Mushrooms are more introspective, and you can quite happily sit in a room alone for 6 hours with your thoughts. Where from what I can gather, people who try that with LSD end up getting 'itchy feet' and wanting to go outside and interact with things/people.

I think mushrooms are best for a first time becuase of the warmth felt with them and also you are able to get a fairly accurate dose compared to consuming a blotter :)

Do have fun :D

i have to say, i would reccomend the mushrooms for you too man. LSD is hard(atleast for me) to stay in one location for the whole trip. keep in mind ive spent a large ammount of time sitting in an empty bathtub on it once, but other than that, i usually spend my 12 hours of tripping doing some sort of activity. mushrooms on the other hand.. although mother nature is simply magnetic while on them, staying inside for the whole trip isnt too much of a problem.

meditate.. go deep..

Well I had LSD given to me when 15--though I didn't ask for it it just kinda happened. So LSD was my first psychedelic. years later I discovered magic mushrooms.

Just remember that both are a magical door you go through and explore deeper-than-usual--than usualy ordinary life--ALSO keeping in mind that what we are led to believe is 'ordinary' life is years and years of cultural indoctrination that is made to make you believe nature (including universe) and yourself is a machine!

it is good you have a sitter. I think that taking psychedelics must not be underestimated. When it is solely recreational it often means you try and refuse to explore deep issues that will appear. I advise to explore these to the fullest and allow free expression.

I read this great book called Sacred Mushroom of Visions: Teonanácatl: A Sourcebook on the Psilocybin Mushroom --all about the importance of intent when planning and beginning a psychedelic experience. This can mean say talking to your shrooms in a ritualistic way--telling them what your intent is. What you are seeking to explore...Have a long conversation with them and yourself ;) Remember that this experience entails a meeting--between you and the shrooms, LSD, etc. So respect yourself, respect the Medicine...
