Hi ! I'm about to start to make grow some mushrooms, Copelandia Cyanescens variety (Hawaians), and I've a question I didn't find an answer by myself.

I read a lot about differents substrates man can use for growing, but I didn't find which was the most appropriate for my variety ! Should I use "agar-agar" method, or rice cake, or anything else ?

If you got some personnal experience, I'd enjoy you sharing it ^^

Thanks for reading !

Well, I got another question, hope this one will find an answer ^^

I saw something today appearing in my substrate !

But I don't wish to be too much optimist !

So, I took a picture : http://placard.wizardsofsoweto.com/champi.jpg

Well, someone with more experience could say me if those white little things are future mushrooms, or if they are some bacteria ?

Thanks !

I just finished using a grow on brown rice flower cakes. Lots of work, not that much of a yeild, compared to horse shit casing techniques. I would go with a casing tech you should be able to find a bunch of shroomery.org

lol some with stuff growing

that is mycelium my friend, your grow is working so far!

you have to wait until the mycelium completely covers the cake, so it is all white, and then some little mushroom pins will form and you will know it is time to birth the cake in a fruiting chamber.

Good luck! :)
