its possible different species produce these lovelly toxins at different times of yhe year. ever read the serpent and the rainbow? the puffer fishes the zombi poison is made from are deadly at certain times of the year and almost edible at others. i know its not the same fish but it may be linked to breading cycle etc. more research i think. there should be a prize for the first in this forum to smoke one

yeah-a bit like the toad thing, but but, its an animal, swallowing it live means you have to kill it (by stomach acid-lovely way to go eh?) to trip, i mean, for dmt why not just get it out of philarus (sp?) grass-not that plants are any less sentient than animals, but its much easier to talk and explain to a plant that your going to take some of it, and if its allright and what for, than talking to a fish-or for me, idk, just personally i try to be as unharmful to everything around me as possible and using grass that understand what your doing and why seems less harmful than swallowing a live fish-i mean, seriousely, is the experience any different?

There are no known underwater plants or animals that get you high or cause trips . Toxic is a rubber word . Any chemical that doesnt belong to your body that causes physiological changes is a toxin . Psilocybin is by that definition a toxin , but , is it toxic = does it do you any harm ? = NO . The reports of underwater drug plants and fish are very old , they come from the time when the books by Schuldes and Hofmann and people like them were written . They listed all the plants and animals that have been said to cause psychoactive efects . The rest is speculation without research .

Reindeer dont get high on them . A fuckin reindeer weighs half a fuckin ton how the fuck is it going to ingest enough , fresh mushrooms , fast enough to get a drug experience . Remember the drug , ibotenic acid , is transformed into the active muscarin / muscimol by the body and the body needs to ingest 80% more than it needs , to get an effect .

We had a thread about the same theme a few months ago and after a bit of research i came to the conclusion that under water drugs are a load of bollocks . If you look for the thread you may see why .

i read the thread b4. cells can contain water soluble chemicals v efficiently. cell membrains contain ion and protein pumps. water solubility has nothing to do with it. lipid membranes are studded with such mechanisms. thats why seaweed can contain 1000s of times motre salts (iodine, manganese etc) and maintain perfect osmotic pressure. your own nerve cell membranes seperate + from - ions to procuce potential difference. if they can controll movement of ions huge molecules are simple. salmon dont fill with water when they leave the sea, they produce more glomerular filtrate then reabsorb the salt, pissing dilute. when they first enter the sea they piss little but its very salty.
