I'm considering trying out Ecstasy, but, as the subject mentions, I have JME (Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy).
If you don't know what that is, go here:

Anyway, I was just wondering if, when taking X, it would cause me to have a non-minor seizure... as in, falling on the floor and seizing for 10 minutes or something. Or worse - a Grand Mal.
I am on medication (Depakote) right now, and have been since I was 12.
I've never had a "real" seizure - just the little jerks (but I usually had about 5 to 10 of them in a row. Either that or they're spaced out by just a few seconds).

I know that I cannot drink alcohol because that will for sure cause seizures. My neurologist made that very clear to me. I have no problem with that anyway, I'm not a fan of alcohol.

The closest thing to X that I have taken is half of an Oxycontin pill, which, to be honest, made me feel absolutely great. That is until I got home and laid down to go to sleep. After about 5 seconds of closing my eyes, the dark-brownish-black of my eyelids flashed bright white, and I opened them as a reflex, and my whole upper body jerked pretty violently. This scared me, because I began thinking, "Oh my god, I'm going to have a huge seizure."
So, I closed my eyes again and tried to calm myself down, knowing that stress in general makes me seize. I jerked a couple more times, they slowly subsided, and I went to sleep.
I don't think I'll be trying Oxy again, to tell you the truth.. haha.

Thanks, if you reply.

High PsycheSmirk ,

We are not doctors and cant prescribe you or recomend you to do anything . You and your medical history are individual .

I`ve never heard of anyone ever having any problems with epilepsy and extacy . One would expect it to have a relaxing effect . It does that with at least some parkinson patients , it stops their spasms . I have the ocasional epeleptic shock . I mean like a very quick electric shock and i`ve taken masses of X and other drugs and never had any bad effects .

In your case i think you should do as much research....... on serious web sites as you can and then make your decission and take your responsibility for yourself . I would advise you that if you do it you do it with a few good friends that know about your health issues and are prepared to help you if anything happens .

Take care of yourself .

Love GOD

Thanks, GOD :)

Yeah, subjects like this are difficult to talk to my doctor about, because he brushes the topic off his shoulder. I get the impression that he's wanting to tell me, "Well I don't want you to be taking any drugs, so I'm just going to beat around the bush with answering that question."

So we never get anywhere when I ask him if it would be okay for me to take a certain substance, because his answer is always something like.. "Well I think you should stay away from all drugs in general, for your health issues."
Which seems like complete bullcrap to me, considering the fact that he is there to give me answers, not his moral opinions...

Anyway, I can't talk to my parents about this either (I am under eighteen) because they would obviously just flatly and simply tell me that I should not be taking drugs. They already know I smoke weed pretty excessively, and my dad is into the whole... using drugs to expand your consciousness thing. I suppose I could talk to him about it.

And all my most reliable friends are those who do not use drugs, sadly. But I could find someone.

Thanks again.

Amphetamines and other stimulants

Amphetamines are brain stimulants. When used under a doctor's supervision, amphetamines or other stimulants do not appear to increase the likelihood of seizures in people with epilepsy. If you abuse amphetamines or related drugs like "Ecstasy" (MDMA), however, you can experience sleep deprivation, confusion, or major psychiatric disorders. With these effects, you are very likely to forget to take your seizure medicine and thus are much more likely to have seizures. Some researchers have also found long-lasting damage to the brain from the use of some types of stimulants. Very high doses of amphetamines can cause severe tonic-clonic seizures, heart attacks, and death.
