its necesseryto clean

before second flush its necessery to clean all the cake from failed to grow mushrooms..(that meen that you must take the whole thing out of jar ,clean it and put it in again) or only the top?
i asking that because i dont clean all of it and i seeing failed mushrooms get green and some kind of mold with time.its good for the substrate or bad?

Mold? Throw the cake away! When I grew them I just picked the mushrooms who have broken away from the veil. Some mushrooms, which we call aborts will never have the veil torn from the cap, so you mush be able to recognize them and those should be picked. Mushrooms that look that they will mature leave till the veil breaks away. All your mushrooms should have the veil torn away from the cap within a couple day period, if not, I would recommond harvesting them because they are most likly aborts.

It would be better if yopu fruited them in a wider container like a tupperware box and not in the jar you sterilised the substrate in .

I didn't catch that/ nor know you can fruit them directly from the jar...that weird, I would have taken them out and fruited them in a 'grow chamber'.

In the old days they used to fruit straight from killner jars like the ones in the my kit fotos i posted .
