is it just me, or what...facebook sucks

I recently opened up a facebook account, just because so many people I know, friends, colleagues, everyone, is having a page and well, call it peer pressure - I subscribed.
It is now roughly two weeks later, and I feel I already have too many friends on facebook.
Because like everyone who knows me from god knows where immediately sent me invitations as soon as my name popped up.
Now I don't really want to post anything on there because I don't have stuff to say that is for everybody (at least not when they know me in real life and they know where I live and work...)

Wouldn't it be great if everybody I ever shook hands with immediately knew when I'm high on shrooms and listening to Shpongle? OH HELL NO!
I don't want to have that many "friends". The page would need an option that was something like "let's make them think I befriended them but really I didn't". Just like in real life

Call me weird, but many people just suck and I don't want to be their friend. Millions of people on facebook seem to disagree, so I guess I must be a little anti-social, whatever...

Hating Facebook because you feel like there are no real friendship coming out of it is not being antisocial, it's just being clever.

Some people feels like they have a great life because they have 200 friends of Facebook, well that's just sad.

IMHO, you can't have more than between 10 to 20 "real" friends, after this point you just don't have enough time to take care of all those relations.

i really just treat facebook as a glorified email account, because so many people i know use it. i'd never post anything too personal up there...

yeah man, I usually just post lyrics i make up or song lyrics on there... nothign personal..

And I honestly deny people that are my "friends" wink... Its awkward when I see them after I denied them on facebook, but really I don't care about your life anymore (not to be mean) but... really.

PLus its another way to promote my music tho...

Btw, all the information on there is sold to other companies for marketing schemse....Sounds fun dont it!

Im pretty sure at some time in the last 60 years our governements have payed certain organisations alot of money to profile people, From the average working man to the top of his game crime lord.

Facebook, Myspace, bebo and the alikes are the most stupid creations I have ever come across. No longer do the governments and other organisations need to research you in a physical sense, you give them all your background details for nothing in a bid to be cool...

Now they simpley type in your surname, first name and date of birth and thats it. They know all about you, where your from and where you are, What you do and who you know....

So without sounding paranoid I hope :lol: ,I personally do not get envolved with these social networking sites for the above reasons.
