Psilocybe stuntzii is only known from the Pacific Northwest. From northern California to British Columbia. It is common in Oregon and Washington. Outdoor specimens have a more olive color and are a bit shorter with larger caps. The common name is "Blue Ringers" due to the bluing annular zone the veil leaves.
