Hello, I just bought those from a local garden shop. I'm not 100% sure what they are.
I'm planning to eat them tomorrow, so please tell me if I picked the wrong species.

those are definatly not kk242, actually the cactus doesnt even look trichocereus. the spikes arent the right colour/size, and the plant looks to be the wrong colour.. trichocereus are a dark green/blue

It's just very hard to make a difference, could it be cuzcoensis? terschekii? werdermannianus? tacaquirensis?
I'm not a cactus specialist and I have no criterium of classification...many times guessing could be wrong, that's why I hope someone will help me out.
Thank You

Yeah, those spikes are enormous compared to the ones we've got growing here!

This is a good book on these cacti: Trout's Notes on San Pedro and Related Trichocereus Species

There's a review at Erowid and more at Amazon.

Hm, there's even a Trout's Notes website: http://www.troutsnotes.com.

its a beautiful cacti, thats non psychoactive. thats all that really matters. i would plant it in my front yard, but i live in the desert.. hehe

trichocereus spikes are usually an orange/red to a dark brown/ almost black colour. the plant itself can have anywhere between 5-12 ribs.. lol depending on species.

the biggest thing to check out is the colour and how the cacti grows.

:) Thank you, now I see... Well, at the beginning I thought to myself: wow, It can't be true!...and it wasn't.
At least I've found what to search for. But, regarding the species of these particular cacti, what do you think it is? I've read that cuzcoensis is green with white spines...
