hydro on in dark

my mate leaves his water pumping even when his lights are off, does anyone know if this helps?

I used to too. Theoretically you can do a timer and turn on/off in a 45/15 cycle, but honestly it's just better to leave it on constantly.

Hydro systems should run whether the lights on or off, The plant still needs to breath and feed in the dark.

When you say hydro system, What system exactly are you using?
