How long do mushrooms keep?

I know someone who has mushrooms right now, but I just did some yesterday. I want to buy them now while they're still available, but I'm worried that they may go bad before I finally take them. (probably in like a week...) will they be ok just sealed in a ziploc? Or should I keep them in the fridge?

are they fresh? dry them...
are they already dried? then you can keep them for years...

Yea never freeze fresh shrooms, they will turn into a goo. Dry them thourougly (till the point where each stem SNAPS when you break it. If you plan to keep them more than six months, freeze them. Otherwise, just store dry, dark and airtight and they will remain good for a long time.

Not sure how long they remain potent in the freezer. The last journey my girlfriend and me made was on Ecuadorian strain mushrooms which where kept in the freezer for about a year.

freezing is fine if your going to make them into a tea. when i could still tollerate the taste i would freeze them if they didnt have to be kept too long. they probably keep longer dried though. did they work after a tear in the freezer heartcore?

if you're drying them... make sure they don't rot. move em around as much as possible, take fresh newspaper everyday, etc..
