Consciousness is defined as the state of being awake and aware of one's surroundings, but how do we become conscious and aware? The idea of consciousness is not a passing stage in our world, people have been seeking ways to expand their consciousness for thousands of years. There are many ways that a person can become more conscious, a quick Google search will give you over 4 million results that you can explore, today I want to look at two specific ways that a person can become more conscious.
- Explore your mind
- Be aware of your language

Interesting question. Let me offer some feedback:
I am not sure how you define doing this but my way is the process of asking questions, and that this process is not towards an end when you suddenly knowe verything and can stop, it is a constant asking of questions which tends to undermine rigid authoritarian models be they myths, philosophies, ideologies, even science as currently understood. Exploring all of this IS exploring your mind because your and my mind are completely interconnected with everyone elses mind, so this must include history, and current ideas about reality.
Be aware of your language
When I discuss things in forums such as this, I often will want to present the etymology of a term that is being used. I think this is very imprtant to do because often the longo we use and its roots can become invisible to us, so it seems sensible to know the terms you use as best you can. I was inspired to pay attention to language mostly after reading a very influential book, for me, titled
The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross, by John Marco Allegro.
This is a mindblowing book for me, because it revealed to me that ancient peoples would think of their sacred mind-altering vegetation as gods, and give them names, and these names become in myth to be literalized--especially in Christianity--as actual humans who lived in history, but imagine this-----you find a name, and with help from Allegro trace the meaning of the name to a mind-altering fungi, and so you go to find it, or vegetation which is mind-altering and eat it, and then POW!!!! Go
beyond language!! LOL
But even with other terms it is very important to know their etymology and origin, such as 'God' and 'Enthusiasm' etc. it is fascinating.
So this questioning is expanding awareness, and is creative. I stumbled on this really inspiring video eariler today with this young boy encouraging people to stop learning and think in your own unique way.
