Basically, me and a mate want to grow some shrooms but we don't really know how to go about it. We know we need a growkit and stuff, but not much else really...

Much appriciated if anyone could kindly impart some knowledge onto the whole subject of growin', like where to get a growkit/how to make one, and where we could get spores.

You basically got 2 choices, buy a grow kit off the internet, or grow your own. Here's a link for the PF Tek, http://www.fungifun.org/English/Pftek and that is probably the easiest way to grow your own.
As far as your local laws go, you may not be able to purchase though, but you can get spores/grow kits off the internet from lots of places, just look around.
