Placed it in general because no one may miss this.

Wow..what a coincidence, I just stumbled upon it on Mininova and am downloading as I write (66%)

Here is the HD torrent (1.4GB) if you are interested:
http://www.mininova.org/tor/2657160

I will watch it when it's done and report back for comments! :D

This has got to be one of the greatest documentaries I've ever seen and I recommend everyone on this board to take a look. Thank you so much for bringing this to us guys.

... great cinematography, but it seems to me to be ultimately misleading and pseudo-righteous

Well, regarding spreading consciousness, this is the only film which I classify as valid since it doesn't include conspiracy, esoteric beliefs, random association, mystery and worrisome oppression with no proper fundaments.

Which will have no chance by those whose mind is too much tied with merely the physical ground they're standing on.

This documentary is based on a rational view, scientific measurements, calculations, antropology, physics and history.

Couldn't have said it any better. Spread the video around! I'm making all my friends see it. Not sure if that does much..but it's better than nothing.

thank you very much!

I didn't know that Yann Arthus Bertrand got into filmmaking. a good idea if you ask me. I bought his book 'the earth from above', and it's amazing. he's definitely one of my heroes.

going to watch the movie now.. in HD, thanks for the torrent ochho. :)

What is it about? I can't be bothered to watch it now. I will later though.

It's about our Home, earth.
And how we rape it everyday.
It's a 1,5 hour jawdropping experience full of wonderful footage,
with a less wonderful but realistic message

I don't like to say it, but I'm not sure if I will ever be able to watch it entirely.

I mean the aerial wide shots are great cinematography - but a whole movie made of these shots is just so monotonously distanced from everything. I need to connect these shots to something going on on the ground before I see the next wide aerial shots of the next area.
The narrators voice is really poetic and soothing, but the text is really philosophic and together with the distanced aerial shots, the whole movie to me becomes like listening to a philosophical poem for 1,5 hours - very difficult!!
Frankly I think the text is sometimes just blah blah, for example: "trees are a pinnacle, a perfect living sculpture. Trees defy gravity" - No they don't! This sounds like a stoned teenager's philosopy about trees...

I'm sure the whole point of this movie is to show the earth from different perspective, but somehow it doesn't work for me (although as I said before, the cinematography is great, just very monotonously tiring after a while)

The slow, wide shots in the beginning reminded me of Kooyaniskatsi, and right after that some music started which reminded me of the soundtrack Philip Glass made for that movie.

Since I don't have Internet at home anymore, it's probably going to take a while before I get a chance to watch it. :(

I might try downloading the torrent though.
