Hi, I bought those cacti from market today. I guess they are bridgesii, but couldn' t be sure, so I ask the elders 8)
I wonder if they can be saved, cuz they look pretty awful . If so, how shall I treat them? But if the fates decide to doom them, will they be enough to secure a good trip? They size about 12 cm each.

Sincerly, I dunno what to do. I guess I wanna propagate them, I'm not that anxious to eat cuz I wanna read more about. Just finished The first of Castaneda books, And I realize this is not just a simple joke, It's a serious thing that was used for thousands of years. I'm willing to treat it with respect and be cautious because I really don't know what to believe. If Don Juan was true, then those trips can be very dangerous without guidance. Hence, I don't have any indian shaman nearby, and if I had maybe he wouldn't look at me, So I decide to risk. Afterall Peyotl is a teacher, and can be used by ordinary people like me. In past Itried datura....bad trip, 4 days without seeing anything closer than 2 metters. It's not the same with cacti, though. I never tried cacti before, only salvia and I tried it in many ways, after a few months I realyzed that it has to be a purpose in using it, otherwhise there will be only emptiness. When I used it with purpose, Lady S. teached me, I ve seen things above my imagination, beyond my conception. I'm willing to find a purpose in cacti also, meanwhile they grow, and I get more and more informed. :wink:
Of course these theoretical information wouldn't be the important thing when I will be there, but helps to create a self confidence feeling. Helped me with Sally, hope to help me with cacti too. I decided to grow them, to have patience
I'm only a beginner, but I fear for the roots and body of the cacti from the first picture. I need guidance to pot them in the wright soil and conditions, should I cut them? the middle two cacti from the first picture look pretty bad in my opinion. Please help.

Before true topic answers. Castaneda and his Don Juan, Don Genaro are fictions!! Castaneda's books are beautiful and very sweet reading-produced faerie stories for old teenagers and adults!
Those books are mixture of Nietzsche's, Ernest Kris, Jung, Dostoevsky, E.A.Po, Herman Hesse, Luther, Fröjd, and couple of more writers.
Philosophy and theory of psyche with religion believes and drug-mind altering drug use!

This texts are made before fiction of Don Juan and describe Jung's work at first!
Big Time before Castaneda's books!
Jung has wrote loads bout this in different forms! H.Hesse can easily be liquefied into Castaneda's book! "Der Steppenwolf" and antipsychiatrists of Robert Lengu in "Divided I" describes everything what Castaneda in secrete and lovely books describes! Do not believe in Castaneda's charlatan books!

How much Castaneda's Books have you reed? You will see at forth one that fiction is those books all about! As I sad, Nietzsche! How can Don Genaro stand on tree in horizontal way and that tree is vertical?? You need to learn much much more! Do not believe those books! They are beautiful but untrue!

however reading his story it pretty much comes out he's a bit of a hoax
without diminishing the phylosophical value of his books
you may consider them as:
ramblings under the heavy effect of different substances while "tripping" in Mexico for research.

Searched wikipedia and I guess I agree with this point of view:

Many of those who had initially accepted that his presentations were honest accounts, at some point began to doubt and eventually concluded that most of what he wrote were his own fictional creations.

On the other hand, many of such persons maintain that his importance was not dependent upon whether he had been truthful in his reports of alternate realities. His claim that his writings were non-fiction presented opportunities for persons to suspend disbelief about what was possible in life. The fact that he helped people to open their minds remained regardless of whether it had been done with facts honestly recorded or not. People had accepted, or at least entertained the notion, that human beings could witness and experience alternative realities for themselves. People can get stuck in mental perspectives about reality and life in general. If his words served only to assist people to learn that they could expand their thinking and imagination, for this reason alone he would have made a significant contribution among authors. This is all the more so when one adds to this the consideration that he presented to us a wealth of philosophical ideas, even if they were only contained within forms of fantasy, allegory and something akin to poetry. Much of what he said was found by many to contain enough of a different kind of wisdom and intelligence that it helped them in their own personal quests toward higher states of consciousness.


It reminds me about a teaching of zen budhism: wich says it doesn't matter if Budha was real or not, but matters what one can do starting from the Idea of Budha.

I cannot tell if Castaneda invented or not those universes. In one way they were real for him, and others, even if real doesn't mean what our capitalism society values tries to implement in our brains.

mogdonotkd, How are Pedro's doing now? Is something better with first pict ones? Lack of water and bright sun made those wounds! But if you have properly replant them they should be OK.

One tip bout Castaneda! Read it! It's fine book with complex mix of other "thinkers" but it's worth it.

The cacti are fine, I ve seen only one problem with one of them, but I think It will be allright. I put them outside, not in direct sunlight 2 weeks ago and they seem to enjoy the fresh air. I ve searched for, JEREMY NARBY Cosmic snake,DNA,and origin of knowledge!. Do you know were to find torrents with this book or others simmillar? or at least reviews...
