hash vs. pressed kief

Hi there, first time poster.

I saw a thread on how to make hash already, but I didn't want to hijack it so I started my own.

I have always liked hash better than weed and I am interested in making my own because it's all dried up where I live (certain area of Canada).

I've been researching on the internet and have found grinders with "pollen catchers" (aka "pollenators") to catch the trichomes that can then be pressed into hash. But is this really hash, or is it just kief? I mean, I have a coffee grinder that collected kief in the lid of it and I've rolled it into a ball and smoked it in a pipe or sprinkled it in a joint, but that's not the same as hash, right?

I want to make actual sticky, black hash and maybe some oil too. Whichever is easier to start with.

I don't grow my own weed (cuz I don't like smoking weed anymore), but a friend of mine smokes about an ounce a month, but he just buys it from a dealer, some kind of typical hyrdo stuff. Would that be good enough to make hash out of, or would I need to grow my own.

And finally, which method is the best? I will want to do this indoors. I have read up on bubbleators and ice-o-lators, but I'm a bit confused. I don't want pressed kief, I want hash.

Well there are many different ways one can go about making hash. The easiest way to make hash these days is a simple Butanne extraction. (As seen here... http://www.a1b2c3.com/drugs/hash005.htm) I only glanced over the site for a quick second, but it seems to be right.

Just, make sure you aren't smoking, and keif and hash are 2 totally different things, when most people make hash they are using there primo buds off the plant and getting the resin off of those plants (higher quality buds, high quality hash) but with the butane extraction you can use all plant material from stems to foilage to seeds. I find an oz of middish looking buds can make roughly 1-2g (2g being on the very high side).

Well if your friend is willing to give you the dro kif, GET IT! Deffinately use it for making your hash. I LOVE smoking dro kif. The spacecase grinders have the kif trays, and boy do I love pure trichromes. :weedman:

I thought butane extraction made "honey oil" or THC oil, not hash? I want like an actual piece of hash, ya know?

But how do you make hash out of kief? Is it even possible?

Hashish (from Arabic: ???? ?ash?sh, lit. "grass"; also hash) is a preparation of cannabis composed of the compressed trichomes collected from the cannabis plant. It contains the same active ingredients but in higher concentrations than other parts of the plant such as the buds or the leaves. Psychoactive effects vary between types of hashish but are usually the same as those of other cannabis preparations such as marijuana. Hash is prohibited to the same extent as all other forms of cannabis.

Basically Hash refers to a potent extract of marijuana. As far as I'm aware to do what you are talking about you need a pollen press, maybe someone can be more informative.

Buy a hashshaker!
These cost between 15 and 400 euro! (hashmaker costs 15 euro growshopalien)
Then buy a press to press the resin to hasj. (costs 150 euro growshopalien, there are also handpresses that cost only 20 euro))

You can also make hasj by hand, if you already have resin! You can place it in plastic and rub the plastic over your jeans till it gets warm and one piece. Do the plastic very tight so it can be pressed together.

There are many ways! You can even do it in a bucket with ice and water.
But this requires an expensive ice o lator.
I've even seen people do it between a vice. The resin placed in a pipe with cellofanplastic, another closed pipe in the pipe with resin. And then they screw the vice to eachother, with the two pices in eachother to press the resin. When it reached its max they start hitting it with a hamer!

But I find the best way pressing it into a piece
You can easily heat your press with a lighter, but be careful, don't get it too hot!
And leave the pressed resin in the pressure over a night.

I have harvested my weed one week ago, and smoked the same day hasj from it! It was the resin sticking on my cissors I rolled up in one piece, smoked it and loved it. However it was quite tasteless, as most cissorhasj is.

you can use a plastic coffee filter. the finer the better. rub your dry plant material around inside with your finger/s and give it a goot tap from time to time. there is a technique to it but you will soon get the hang of it.

wrap the trichomes in CELLOPHANE, never polythene. use the wrapper from cigarrette packs. the botton of the pack (wrapper) is already a pouch. dump your trichomes in there and roll/close the open end. tape it up. gently warm it. use a bottle as a rolling pin and roll it hard. throw it in the fridge for a minute. hash

any of these filters willl do but a fine mesh willll make better hash
