I just registered though I've known of this site for years.
It's great that folk of like mind can gather in this way and freely discuss these topics.
I'm a closeted psychonaut myself, as my wife does not approve of my nitrous use.
I'm curious as to where people first heard the word psychonaut.
I thought of it one day back in 2000 or 2001, maybe 2002, while musing on how to describe what it is I do when I do nitrous.
All I could think of was "consciousness explorer" ie, psychonaut.
I checked the web and found others already using the word, so I know my own independent stumbling upon it was not the first.
It would be interesting to put together a time-line, I'm thinking.
Anyone want to contribute?

Peace

greetings

I think I heard something similar back iin the 90's but cant think where.

Did Timothy Leary have something similar to say?

but good to see you here

A starting point:

Peter J. Carroll made Psychonaut the title of a 1982 book on the experimental use of meditation, ritual and drugs in the experimental exploration of consciousness and of psychic phenomena, or "chaos magic". :mrgreen:

But anyway;

Welcome to the forum!
