Hi,

I have quite alot of peyote cacti over here,
And I was asking myself: If you have to boil them for the mescaline to release from the cactus, you get a mixture of mescaline and water.

Referring point: Throw salt in water, let it dissolve, let the water evaporate...
what do you see when the water is completely gone?
right: salt crystals.

now the questions:
- How does it come that the salt doesnt evaporate?
- Does the salt has a certain property that makes it "immune" to evaporating?
- If so explain the above?
- Could I do the same with mescaline water?

You prolly all get the point?
I want to know, If i cook my cacti, let the juice evaporate, Will the mesaline form crystals?

Well the salt you talk about is NaCl or KCl, this has a higher boiling temperture then water so it won't go in gas form at the temperture water evaporates. Theoratically it's possible probably(i'am not sure, but internet contains a lot of info if you're really interested). But it takes a lot of time to evaporates water and if you speed it up by heating the molecule is probably degrading.

Water evaporates. Salt doesn't (that's why the dead sea is so salt). So if you would evaporate the water from a cactus stew the mescaline would not evaporate. BUT lots of other things don't evaporate as well. You won't get any chrystals.

If you want chrystals you need an acid-base extraction

Meduzz a dit:

enIn what product then? i'm not a chemistry student...
how will this procede work?

i'll google on some shit, cuz this really sounds fun: pure mescaline

grtz

Just pure chemicals, and an idea of what you are doing.
