The National Council on Drug Abuse awarded The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy $1.7 million for a nearly five-year study of the long-term adverse effects of the street drug ecstasy.

Terrence J. Monks, head of the UA's department of pharmacology and toxicology, is a specialist in the study of drug toxicology, or the "bad" effects of drugs. He will be the principal investigator on the newly funded project.

Interesting idea, but when you see where the money is coming from, you can be pretty sure the outcome of the research is interpreted. Let's hope for the better.

Hopefully they'll get the chance to show the government is wasting a beautiful tool like MDMA for couples having problems. That's the best therapeutical tool you could use. It is the solution to why men and women don't connect in certain ways. But they're just pissed off that there mind control experiment went wrong. They wanna ban something good, cause they couldn't use it for evil. Fuck the government. They don't give a shit about you! Hypocrites!

Make sure you read the rest of the article on DoseNation!

^just did. Pretty accurate.

I won't have time to read until tomorrow but, how do I sign up to be a test subject? ;)

Dude, they are probably gonna hand out meth just to make sure people get fucked up enough. Like the last big american study into this subject used speed instead of mdma accidentaly killing numerous innocent rats.

Yeah completely agree with Fork, ow we accidently gave meth instead of mdma we later found out.. scientists? complete fucking retards? :P
well its not so strange is it as it's methylenedioximethampetamine isn't it? give your old scientist a break mate  lmao

Are you a rat? No where does it say in the original article that the MDMA will be tested on human beings. Indeed, since the assumption (there you go, another example of preconceived "passionate" notions standing in the way of true science, though parading as such) is that MDMA is toxic, it would be unethical to test it on human beings, whether volunteers or not.

I asked my uncle, who is currently a big name in Dutch dentistry, if there had ever been done tests showing conclusively that brushing teeth with fluoride (it's not in our water fortunately) truely shows a significant protection against tooth decay. He explained to me that the Dutch "ethics commission" would not allow any such research to be executed, because "depriving" people of a daily dose of fluoride would be unethical. Why? Because it would harm the teeth of those not using the fluoride. So then you might ask again: has it been proven that not using fluoride is detrimental to the teeth? And the dentists will answer: no, the ethics commission won't allow that.

^there is research sponsored by MAPS in ptsd. & you won't find a government sponsoring research like that. Some government sponsored research might stumble on positive effects, but they won't show the world.

Right now I'm reading DMT: The Spirit Molecule, and wasn't that research also performed in the US? I guess it is possible, as long as the researchers are honest.

The research has already been done. The misinformation is that, it puts hole in your brain, when what it actually does is, when you roll, all or most of your serotonin gets released along with some dopamine. The oxidized dopamine fills up in the serotonin receptors, oxygen is toxic to the receptors in particular. This is what damages neurons & nerve endings in the brain. Oxidized dopamine is toxic. It has been previously proven, that when you take an anti-depressant like Prozac before or shortly after, it corks the receptor, preventing them from filling up w/ oxidized dopamine, thus preventing nerve damage. That's the solution right there, making MDMA virtually non-toxic at all to your body.

Yes but MDMA enters the neurons trough these receptors. You won't experience full effects. And if you do you could get serotonin syndrome right?

They won't fill up immediately, you can take the anti-depressant shortly after, like when you're coming down & it would still be efficient. Yes, you wouldn't get the full effects if taken prior, but you won't get fully drained either if that's desired.
