have you heard of this guy? somebody once recommended a book by him to me. I was hesitant to buy it since the title is rather cheesy ("The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment"), and on the back were recommendations from Oprah and Cher, who are both people I know little of, but feel that I'm not missing out on a lot. whatever. I bought the book nonetheless and I have to confess it's really good. it's written in a very simple way - almost naive-, but it changed quite a lot for me, or better, it catalyzed a lot - starting from my life and relationships to my perception of the essence of things and everything else. this guy is very straight-forward, concerning that everlasting circle of thoughts, the identification with them, etc.. it's basically about living in the now, not being enslaved by your mind.
he's also funny to listen to, heeee's sooo slowww.

Tolle is very naive about drugs, the things he says about them in power of now are quite nauseating, but apart from that i think he is spot on, and a highly valuable spiritual teacher

I was thinking for something negative about him but couldn't find something in the pace of writing this topic. you are right, he's very naive concerning drugs.

he is awesome, because he is authentic in what he is teaching!!! the book is definately recommendable and a good read!!!

but you should keep in mind that's he is simply a human being who had a huge life crisis. it's really sad somehow...
