Dutch web host problems
Can anyone please help us . We have massive problems with a dutch web host . We had a contract with them for several years . They never fullfilled the contract and we had one problem after another with them . They ignored a lot of our requests to update their software so that we could run a modern forum and to solve other problems but they didnt do it . They told us that they could do it but didnt and also told us several other direct lies .
The ' help ' desk doesnt help it was the main part of the problem . The person that runs it is toitaly incompetent . For instance installing a forum software and forgeting to change the permissions from ' Can be writen to ' to ' Cant be written to ' . Then after we wrote to him he changed the permissions to what they should be ...... and then denyed that he had done it .
The softeware was totaly out of date wich ment that we couldnt instrall any updates for the forum for several years . The server software was also broken and so was the plesk administration softeware . The passwords were so simple that they could be broken in seconds .
Eventualy we cancled the contract . Then they sent us two emails telling us that they would fix the problems and offered to do it in the new year . After our original contract was suposed to end .
We then sent them two emails refering to their offer telling them that we had sent them the money for the next year . They didnt reply ...... but left us online untill after the original contract had finished and then registered our name . Then after it was to late for us to do anything they cut us off . Now they wont give us our money or our data base or our domain name .
This is a clear case of fraud .
We need help . We are looking for any advice and any organisation that can help us . In the UK they have the citizens advice buro and in germany the verbraucherschutz wich help people in situations like ours .
Can anyone help us please or make any sugestions .
