Is it possible to dry truffels? I know you can dry paddo mushrooms but I was wondering if it also goas with truffels. See the ban in holland is almost here and I want to dry some so I can use them later.

I know for a fact that they keep looking/smelling good after one year of dried->freezer but I don't know if the are still potent since I haven't tried them yet. My guess is it will work just as good as drying/freezing normal mushrooms since in essence, it's the same organic matter.
There is less water in truffels than in mushrooms. So the dry weight/wet weight ratio is different from mushrooms. Don't know how this influences the drying process, though.
The drying process is harder because sclerotia (the truffels) are more compact so there is less surface for the water to evaporate. You should dry them with a desiccant like silica gel.
