Has anyone ever tried one of these Dream Machines or watched video's that simulate the effect?

Description of the device -

Instructions for using a video simulation of the effect -

I'm going to experiment with this tonight (just discovered it now at work), but I'm curious if anyone else has tried this and experienced any level of success?

What do you all make of audio/visual stuff that claim to induce visuals, alter mood etc. Can a serious experience be had from any of these? Or do we need to ingest powerful drugs to really get these serious experiences?

What about mixing the two? Has anyone experimented with these types of things while on psychedelics?

Curious.

"this video may cause harm, addiction or death"

omfg, well I kinda was disappointed when I saw that it's just flickering light (wtf??). I never had an experience because of a strobo and I don't expect anything of flashing videos (I watched it for 30 seconds or so)...But I'll wait for other votes...it's strange.

I sometimes do this naturally, like when travelling by train or by car when it's real sunny outside. I close my eyes with my face aimed at the window, and the sun flashes because of trees, buildings, or whatever(trees work best though). And it does give me closed-eye-visuals.

This video however didn't really do it for me, although when you watch it with your eyes open it's kind of spacey/hallucinative.

Peace.

i knew of this through interest in Burroughs and Gysin but i've never tried it

I tried the 10 Hz video last night.

I think it caused extremely mild changes in my mind state, and I noticed very mild CEVs. Nothing of any serious complexity. When I stopped I felt a slight dizziness that went away after a minute or so.

I found myself having vivid daydreams after about 5 or 6 minutes, but I don't think I'll attribute this to the video. I was also under the influence of Marijuana at the time.

Apparently some people will be more effected by different frequencies. While I think this is having some effect on the brain it's not significant, I plan no further experimentation.
