digital PH meter

i've bought one recently and the manual said that i should store it with some drops of storing liquid. does this happen to all ph meters ? or this is just one of those things that factories make up just to earn extra money ? is this necessary ?

the working part of the pH sensor is the semipermeable glass tip. It can be damaged it dry for too long. So yes, the sensos has to be stored in liquid.

Yes you need to. When i had my first ph-meter, i didnt. Then it became very unstable until it didnt calibrate anymore. Needed to buy a new one.
