Now, I have had life changing experiences on all sorts of psychoactives. As I read this forum, people always use the term "Loops" as if they describe a common part of (especially acid) trips. Can someone clarify for me?

i believe they are refering to repetitive thoughts.

I sometimes get a thing where I'm having a thought, but cant remember the last thought that lead me to that thought, and then start wondering if it was the same thought, and then start wondering if I'm only wondering about what thought I was wondering about! Hope that makes sense 'cause it really doesn't at the time! Like a goldfish memory is the only way I can describe it. I always thought that's what poeple meant.

Repetitive thoughts are something I have all the time though, maybe that's normal. But I can go to sleep with one line from a song repeating in my head, and wake up to realise I'm still singing it in my head - usually some catchy pop tune I've heard on the radio. I think those songs are designed to stay in your head like that though, so I'm not too worried

Rolling through a reality of translucent diamonds frame by frame and in the end ending up in a vortex of hydrogen (if you did right, bizarre, beautiful and brilliant colours appear). Within the hydrogen itself, new frames appear, appear and appear, and that's when ''infinity'' and ''unbeing'' sets in. There's remaining a pleasant and peaceful echo in your head once you freeze back into a solid mold out of a repetetive infinite journey, and the regained life with full control over the Self (experienced as birth) is a fresh reboot with produces bliss for naturally having a solid identity in an own corpus with its will.

Look mom, I play with ringlets in the lake. Yet I'm on fucking FIRE! :D

I have NO idea what you just said brugmansia, but i admire your wrighting skills quite abit. Im trying to build up a larger vocabulary, so that i can express myself abit more clearly, but its quite a daunting task using only the internet and will power. lol

ive read a study somewhere that shows how vocabulary and anual income are directly related in almost all cases. I never really though of it like that, but it makes sence. How many doctors and lawers use slang? and how many physical laborers speak using proper english?

Needless to say now im here practically reading a thesaurus, trying to get rich ;)

Okay. I think you are all way too fucked to help me understand my original question. But I do understand the concept of being stuck in infinity. If that is a "loop" thanks for explaining it. It is, as far as I understand, a constant train of thought of which you don't really escape while under a trip.

you just simply haven't experienced it yet, or else all this would make perfect sense to you. it is a thought pattern that you see everywhere that constantly jump starts this series of thoughts that will repeat itself into infinite unless you can gain peaceful relaxed, "letting go" state of mind. <its control, but it's not "gaining control". it's releasing attempts to control or label or understand or quantize or try to "be on top of the situation".

people often get extremely frustrated that they cannot force themselves to get rid of this thought loop/spiral, and that is the exact reason that they are in this state, because they use "force" or active energy, instead of passive "energy" (aka no energy)

it's like scrunching your face when someone says "look closely". does contorting your face make your vision any better?

alright ..012345678910.. now better?? 8) :P

regarding loops i think it's part of the prison building system many to all of us have embedded in our conditioned/conditioning mind-systems to some extent.

someone recently said that on the television, did you see it too?

Yeah, I have felt stuff like that before under LSH. Terrible thing. The next time it happens though, I'll be ready for it. It is really amazing how much just reading up on the shit we do and other's experiences helps me with my mental voyages into the unknown.

im with you on that one man. if it wasnt for this place and erowid, i woulda been lost at sea on a lsd trip.

anyone looking for a quick trick to try and get back to grips with reality, try taking your shoes and socks off and dragging your feet on carpet or something like that.
that trick pulled me together when i was abit overwhelmed once.

I say, if you're lost, as controversial as this may be, use a phone and call someone, someone you can say, "Hey, man... I'm tripping balls and just need to hear a voice."

Works for me, kind of gets me out of any bad or dark loop.

oh thats actually a good one too.

i just realized ive used that one time back in the reckless dxm days. not including drunk dials... fml :X lol
EDIT: why would that cause contraversey?

Technology, at times when tripping is disgusting, especially to the more 'hippie' among us... or in us.

100% agree. one could debate it's place as mandatory

ijc, i heard alan watts say it recently, i've been watching his videos on and off lately. although he put it much more eloquently and with much more tact than i could. this video here pretty well conveys my original point on loops

Yea, nevermind that is the video I saw it from too. He is very clever to pick up on such odd manifestations of the psyche.

True Men vomit once they witness the house they live in is made of concrete.

Loop: Something having a shape, order, or path of motion that is circular or curved over on itself.
