Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone has some tips on how to deal with stress without the use of Marijuana or any other 'drugs'. School and a bunch of other stuff is going to send me in too deep. I need a way to deal with massive amounts of stress. Please and thank you.

PEACE

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to try meditation. I've done it many times in the past, and I don't really enjoy just sitting there for long periods of time. But I'm going to give it another go. I also think reading will help. I read tonight and I feel super relaxed.

PEACE

Yeah reading is very good too. Also the best for me: sports. I like to run for like 15-20 mins, and finish by sprinting until I feel I really can't keep running. Then I take a hot shower and after just sit and relax. Feels really good, and removes a lot of stress. And good for health too!

Due to the fact that I shattered the mid region of my left foot (and the fact that I hate running) I go swimming once or twice a week.

- Taking a walk in the middle of the night.
- Have a cup of tea right before going to bed.
- Masturbate/have sex in the morning.
- Do a system reset with 1 (or max 2) N20* capsules during/before a shower.
- Prevent drinking caffeine too late in the day.
- Play some computergames.
- Find (yourself!) a nice smooth and interesting looking stone and carry it with you. On times you can just touch the stone in your pocket and feel grounded again by thinking about the location you found the stone, and the state of mind you were in then.

*no more otherwise it'll turn into a binge, and you'll feel more stressed afterwards..

Good luck and strenght to you.

Exercise works, and it is good for body and mind.

I like phalaris' idea about the stone, that is a cool idea.

Phalaris- explain about the N20, please, for everyones benefit...

i think it's easier to meditate when your body is tired. so after having gone for a walk or jogging or maybe swimming it's good feeling exhausted ... then you can just chill out and meditation is easy as you feel your body energies regenerate or gather. I think when not exhausted it's more difficult to focus on meditation or develop a level of concentration, because of too much energy in the body which wants to go out. Well if you can focus that energy and use it for meditation it's nice but it*s not too easy! :P also music sooths a stressed mind really well. for sure smoking (or other method) cannabis is benneficial for relaxation techniques.

Peace! :D

Thanks all. I really like that idea about the stone thing. I think sometime this week I'm going to get stoned, and get to a really peaceful state, and go find a stone. Then when I'm having a hard time, I can just reach into my pocket, and remember that I was once peaceful and there is no need to stress casue it will all work out. I'm also going to try and run daily and after running, take a nice hot/cold shower, and meditate for about 20 minutes.

Could someone elaborate on how to use N02, where to get it, because I know it's legal. Also some potential dangers. I read a little about it, and it talked about not getting enough C02 to the brain and you could have some serious brain damage. Might just be bullshit, but I'm sure I don't want to take my chances.

Once again, thank you for your replies. Hope everyone has a great day :D

PEACE

Well, for me the combination of a balloon N2O and a shower, sitting on the ground truly feels like a system reset. There's a strong sense of before and after. The comfort of a warm shower lets you glide into dissociative space so much easier. After the effects have largely worn off, you can still enjoy the warm shower. When you step outside the bathroom, you step back into normal reality, leaving behind any fuzziness, and completely relaxed.

In reaction to Braineater:
In my experience N20 can be used in two ways: 1) social binges, filling balloon after balloon and having a great time with friends. A box of 50 capsules is barely enough in this case. My guess is that this type of use is not that healthy, after all its an oxidzing agent. Just keep these binges limited to a couple of times per year. The novelty of it wears off anyway after a few times.

or 2a) 'standalone' Private Spacing Moments, with just a few capsules. To me, this is the more interesting type of use. Also, taking 1 or 2 capsules is bound to be healthier than a full night binge ;)

or 2b) 'boosterpack' Private Spacing Moments, again with only a few capsules:
-during the after glow of a DMT trip
-during the peak of a cannabis high, or better, trip.
-during a 2CB trip

Stress usually occurs to me when i want to do more things then what's actually possible in a certain period of time.
It helps for me if i plan things and stick to my planning.
Don't plan things and don't stick to your planning, because that will give you even more stress.

Keep your life a bit organized and first do the things that are important and relax after you finished it, not the other way round

Totally agree with the above (especially the bit about exercise, gives your body a chance to do something with all those hormones and what not released from stress!)

Sleep is so, so, so important too, if you fall behind on sleep the real world will feel so much harder to deal with. Recently I went through a period where I realized I had gone for weeks with probably an average of 3-4 hours per night, friends were actually getting worried about me.. seriously the real world was actually feeling like coming out of a bad trip.. I was actually having trouble dealing with it. I had to just start canceling plans, cutting out anything i could cut from my plans. Real friends will understand (maybe reluctantly), if you are super tired and need rest, and they actually care about you. After a few nights the real world was getting way more manageable. And.. I started having dreams again! :D

Mixed experiences for me getting high when stressed. Not always bad for me , sometimes relaxing but... sometimes it just amplifies the stress. Sometimes it makes me numb, passive to the stress, but then a day or two later the stress comes back with a double whammy.

And yeah totally agree with phalaris.. I personally avoid caffeine when I'm stressed, it just makes me incredibly anxious. A bit more tired, but not feeling that horrible jittery nervous-wreck caffeine comedown is totally worth it for me. I actually notice for me anyway when I'm eating healthy stress doesn't affect me as badly either.. even if life is difficult at least my body doesn't feel so crappy or drained.

During that period of getting really tired, it was also an incredibly stressful period for me due to being way too busy, way too many projects, not enough time to relax, and also having events in my life that were hard to deal with and just felt out of my control. It totally put me in a headspace, and I guess I somewhat chose to deal with it like a trip, and just experiment and find what worked and didn't work for alleviating the stress.

Seriously though, good luck, this time of year school gets pretty stressful for a lot.. especially when it is on top of life and whatever else..!

Don't attach to the things you have to do. Don't bother about the result.

You'll be less stressed and will perform better, because of it. Unless of course you are lazy and need stress to actually perform, in which case the question would be superfluous...

When i'm in a stressy period like now:
I have deadline for my work after that, i'm in charge of the distribution, and i got a couple of meetings that i need to prepare for my new school, where i want to go to next school year. plus that this is all happening in like 3 three days..

But what i do when i'm seriously down and stressed out on a lot of things.
Ill just lay in my bed in silend darkness thinkin everything through, reseting my goals, and the ways on how im going to achieve those goals.
Solutions and ideas for problems flow much more easyer when i'm closing off most of my senses like sight and audio.
And sometime i have a little pep talk to myself, eat well sleep well.
And after all this is just a period, its a period where you can learn alot from, get stronger from, and grow as a person.
The hardest moments are those moments where you have the chance to overcome them, or maybe not, but atleast you tryied and now you know better.

But thats just how i feel about it..

That's the point - I also notice for myself that meditating is hard at first because it feels so boring. You have to overcome this - as soon as you accept the "nothing" of meditation and get used to it, you will get your powers back to do work without being stressed.
When I watch tv to relax, it doesn't work because my mind is still going in circles, but I don't notice it and think I'm "relaxing". Then, when trying to meditate, I understand what really "doing nothing at all" means - and that it's not easy at first for us 21st century workaholics (even I am not a workaholic at all in the 21st century definition, I still realize I have trouble relaxing)

About the N2O: We used to get it in capsules for whipped cream dispensers.

Just make sure you don't get CO2 capsules (they are sometimes sold in the same size, but for making sparkling water, not whipped cream)
The whipped-cream n2o is perfectly clean food-grade n2o, so you won't have to worry about impurities. Technical n2o is sold cheaper in big cylinders but you can't be sure about unhealthy impurities. Most perfect would be medical n2o in a big cylinder (and probably a lot cheaper than the whipped cream stuff) but hard to get by.

Go in for sports!Weightlifting is the best stress reducer I ever tried. Do not overdo and you'll feel great :)

I find that swimming , bycycle riding ,judo , boxing , weight training and working with a sand sack are good for me . Another thing that i find usefull is just lying on my back and closing my eyes and letting go for an hour or two . Just watching where my brain takes me and loosing contact to the here and now without going to sleep .
