As a rule, the phenbethylamines are very stable chemicals unlike the indolic ones (dialkyltryptamines>ring substituteddialkyltryptamines>>ergolines)
Alcohol should keep it more stable than water if just because it will prevent any sort of organic growth (like bateria and mold). In a cold place away from light, most phenethylamine salts are quite stable, including the 2C-X class. They're stable in water also, aside from possible growth of contaminants.
2c-e should be pretty stable as long as you don't expose it to excessive heat or UV light. I have some 2c-e thats been at room temp for a few years and I have no loss in potency.
I don’t think the acidic orange juice will destroy 2C-E in that short amount of time. I have tried lemon juice before and it dissolved well and worked well but it seemed to increase the acidic stomach problems for me so I don’t use it anymore, the lemon juice covered a lot of the chemical taste though.
It dissolves graet at 5mg/mL, but I heard up to 10mg/mL would be a problem either. I don't know the saturation point.
Erowid. For this example, lets say that we have a material for which +/- 1mg is no big deal (something like 2CB), so perhaps our target accuracy is 2mg. We Rule of 10 Thumbs this to get 10 drops per 2mg, or 5drops per milligram. That would allow me to put ~68 mg of material in the 20ml bottle ( ( 17 drops per ml / 5 drops per milligram ) * 20ml in bottle ). I think I'd rather reduce the accuracy a little and get more in the bottle, so I decide to go with 2 drops per milligram which will reduce my target accuracy quite a bit, but its still fine. If I slip and accidentally get an extra couple milligrams of 2CB, I'll survive. At 2 drops per milligram, that means 7-8 milligrams per milliliter (15-18 drops per milliliter for the example dropper). That means that about 150 milligrams in my 20ml dropper bottle. Thats a good amount and 2CB is nice and stable in distilled water.
i know of 2c-I that was stored sealed in high-proof alcohol at room temperature for months and months without any obvious loss in potency. The concentration was somewhere around 8mg/mL if memory serves.
2-ci is actually quite water soluable. You should have no problem using it as a solvent. MAPS.org
Sulfurous SamadhiSince these chemicals have become more widely available, some people have been dissolving them in solvents to allow for measuring doses out by liquid volume. The two most popular solvents for this purpose have been water and ethyl alcohol. There have been mixed reports as to the solubility of 2C-T-2 and 2C-T-7
PIHKAL by ALexander T. ShulginTo a solution of 165 g 1,4-dimethoxybenzene in 1 L of CH2Cl2, in a well ventilated place and well stirred, there was cautiously added 300 mL chlorosulfonic acid. With about half the acid chloride added, there was a vigorous evolution of HCl gas and the generation of a lot of solids. As the addition was continued, these redissolved to form a clear, dark green solution. Towards the end of the addition, some solids were again formed. When everything was stable, there was added 2 L H2O, a few mL at a time, commensurate with the vigor of the reaction. The two phases were separated, and the aqueous phase extracted with 2x75 mL CH2Cl2. The original organic phase and the extracts were combined and the solvent removed under vacuum. The residue weighed 162 g and was quite pure 2,5-dimethoxybenzenesulfonyl chloride, a yellow crystalline solid with a mp of 115-117 °C. It need not be further purified for the next step, and it appears to be stable on storage. The sulfonamide, from this acid chloride and ammonium hydroxide, gave white crystals from EtOH, with a mp of 147.5-148.5 °C.
Sulfurous SamadhiRegarding the stability of these chemicals, in 2000, Shulgin re-examined the original discovery samples of 2C-T-7 and the closely related 2C-T-4, to make sure that the propyl and isopropyl groups, respectively, had not been compromised. These samples were at the time well into their second decade. Both samples were still white, and the spectra showed clean when checked by mass spectroscopy. When asked about the possibility of long term storage of 2C-T-2 and 2C-T-7, he said "I feel that the solids are stable with time." It is probably advisable to store the chemicals in air-tight, light-proof containers (such as amber glass vials with good caps) in a cool, dry location.
