Hello! Glad to have discovered this forum!
I have been growing some cacti species for like 5 years. Recently, though, i've found out that some of the cacti specie have this awesome mescaline. There is really not that much info on wikipedia about cacti species, as there are really many varieties.
So i was wondering if anyone can tell me if any of these species have mescaline. I attached a photo to my post.

first of all, welcome to the forum! of those 3 cacti in bthat one pot the most to the left looks like a cereus peruvianus monstruosus, and the one most right looks like some kind of opuntia, those other cacti I dont know. chek http://home.conceptsfa.nl/~boogaar1/cactussen.htm to see wat kind of alkloids cacti contain. but most cacti are not fit for consumption, at least, not to get any psychotropich effects, some kind of opuntia's are nice as food . if you want to trip on mescaline I advise you to buy some san pedro's (Trichocereus family) as peyote grow realy slow. there are diferent kinds of trippy cacti but they usualy do not contain mescalin or they contain mescalin in trace amounts, those cacti have other alkloids that contribute to their effects. I dont know if your cacti have any effect, probably not but they do contain some interesting alkloids.

I found that site you recommended me before posting this (i made some research on this forum before joining in, and i found that site too).
The thing is that i don't know how to identify the cacti species i own. I mean.. there are sooo many. And usually the species are just listed, they don't have pictures or anything, so it makes it impossible to identify them.
How fast does a san pedro grow?

Last year My san pedro's grew about 30 cm. the first couple of years, when they were still only a couple of cm big they more than doubled their size each year. here is a site that maby can help you identifying your cacti http://www.cactiguide.com let us know if they are of any interes

The cacti from the far right is:
"Opuntia leucotricha - Arborescent prickly pear (other common names: Aaron’s beard cactus, semaphore cactus, Duraznillo blanco, Nopal blanco); a tree-like cactus, growing up to 5 m tall, occurring in the mountains of central Mexico."
It is not listed on that site with the alkloids found in cacti. Any idea where else i could research to see if it has nay psychoactive ingredients?
And what about "4-hydroxy-PEA"? It's in the peeruvianus monstruosus cacti i have. Is it of any good?
Anyone knows the name of the other species in th epic?

But i've heard peyote grows REALLY slow :-/ after how many years can i eat a peyote for a decent trip?

I am here from third mounth of 2006. Try and see how many of posts and replys I have send. This is only quaranty for my word cause this statement sound harsh. And I apologise to everyone for my apstinence from this forum and PC in general. Work is hard and after it I do not have strenght to power of my PC. And what if you give me yours adress. I suggest going on http://www.erowid.org/plants/cacti/cacti.shtml here and theres probably a cactus identification table of some sort erowid is pretty good that way. good luck hope you have a good time with ur cacti :wink:
