I've just recently read about Castaneda in a Daniel Pinchbeck book, so I googled him, and read some pretty crazy stuff...Has anybody else read or done any research on the "magical passes"? What do you think about it?

I'd recommened you to do a big amount of cactus first before reading Castaneda's stuff. Perhaps reading a bit in the after glow. Once the click is found, you can read further sober with the proper inset.

Many of his written concepts will be not understood otherwise. I better mention that it is a sort of training and there are some notorious episodes which are lied on purpose in order to educate the reader about the clean path of life and how to prevent detention in any form and size. Note that there are puts which can take you out of your choosed direction and seat if you'd follow them. Along with marvelous wisdow if the right components are integrated in the divine within. It is the gimmick to pick only the good lessons out of it.

It is no different than life, he teaches you the ability to spot different individual values and human behaviour, and therefore, how to seperate truths from facades in what gets offered to you, or appears in your sight during your lifetime.

i see.. i did read about being sober and integrating that into the lifestyle...but i havent done cactus, so who knows how much i would really get out of his writings..i dunno, i just get this obsession with every new philosophy or philosopher i find, and want to learn as much as i can about it/them right away..but what do you think about it? is it all bullshit?

It is no bullshit at all, on the contrary. It makes you more sane than you could ever predict. If reading it properly, you'll not experience certain negative electricity in life which would probably occur to you otherwise.

Self-reflection is known to be the guide that keeps us in the right direction of life, even amoung those who're into entheogens. But it is still running the same process, just supported through extended thoughts and sensory. The ropes ain't cut.

What this world learns you, is that you must think before your act, the thinking part prior to the act is to judge whether your act is in accordance with the collective morality.

You should stop checking and thinking your acts prior to performing them, and operate from a clean and honest carpet instead. Only then your acts will be pure and valid in representing the chairman within yourself to the world. And the morality check will be no longer an elementary matter and limiter. Since there's an ignorance of motives for performing immoral acts.

But as I said, there are some boobytraps planted, if you can pick them out, and remain with merely the great wisdom, nothing and no one will ever manage it to deceive you.

wow..that gave me chills hah..odd that you would say those particular things to me, ive kind of been in an inner struggle about honesty and good intentions instead of selfish ones...maybe i should look into his writings..please, hit me back up :)

and what kind of booby traps are we talking about??

"and what kind of booby traps are we talking about??"

Ones you have to spot yourself . Read the series and see .

The story is fiction but if you dont get to be fanatical and believe every word it can be a very great help . There is no yaqui way of knowledge as he describes it .

Read the books slowly , each one several times and then have a pause to mentaly digest it before going on to the next one . But read them all or you wont understand .

lol, jeeeez God, why do you always have to make me feel like an idiot? im j/k, but i def. want to get a couple of his first books in the series. i know what you mean though...

its odd, atleast in my circumstances, its like my whole relationship is based on lies, and i always thought i could repress it, but im coming to realize that all my problems stem from this, and ive been really sick for like, 6 monthes, and i think it's because i need to come clean on some things ive done in the past..

Follow your heart and intuition... maybe a pendulum can help you find your right polarity and thus get always firm guidance from your body.

Don't trust voices in your head or otherwise, your body always knows whats good and bad for you.

As to if there's a yaqui way of knowledge, who knows, certainly not a god living in germany :P

Perhaps people like Don Juan do not live in a hut like it's apparent ; perhaps they're a race of shapeshifter hiding in caves and that they threatned Castaneda for him to tell his story was fiction...

Whatever this might be giving me a headache...

lol...havent heard from YOU in a while :) but yeah..i pretty much dont know what to do with my life...

The body can't live without the mind, as Morpheus has adequately put.

The body is the sheet, the condition of the sheet makes up how sophisticated and fierce the taste of your electrical bio senses may be. If they are shut down, you're death, no matter whether your mind remains with a clear consciousness or not.

The mind is merely an operator to maintain the body with putting the phone calls with orders through, for proper physical action and movements. And one should learn that the operator is delicate for external intruders who pass their message on through the same corridor without too much of their and your notice. The purpose of the mind switches. With decreased antennas as a result. Which blocks the gateway for certain electrical waves which will not make it to the nerve center. Once these are lost, one is blindly captivated with continuously moving for a beginning, which will never start. He will serve a generator, and gets incidental a lift of eminence in the mind as a return.

The severe amnesia of what one formerly had, is why the agents are so strong. One won't make objection since the belief is fully onset that this is what it is.

Castaneda couldn't put it more plain otherwise this ancient knowledge, for making life an exquisite drink, wouldn't have survived.

The truth is not a matter in his works, the concepts are. You'll sooner or later become amazed about the conduct of your parents if you get wraped up with them in the concept you've been in earlier through Castaneda's work. Not to mention strangers, you'll know what they are after at.

"As to if there's a yaqui way of knowledge, who knows, certainly not a god living in germany"

The yaqui indians know , so would you if you had done some research .

They're just fun books to read, thats all. And they're not that hard to read. The first few ones are the best though, later it all get's kinda far fetched.

I would say go for it and read his stuff.
Take some of it with a pinch of salt. If you have had any kind of experience with hallucinogens at all, then the stuff that stands true in the book, will become apparent.

I first started reading it before I had my first experience. After my experience, I went back to reading it, and all of a sudden, some his writings started to slap me in the face with prevalence.

There are some documentaries about him though, too. I recommend watching them also, to balance up your views.

I watched some films on him after I started reading, to see what he was really about. I was sad to learn that Cast. was such a fuck up towards the end of his life, but I still wanted to continue reading, merely because his works are regarded as classics. Then I had my experience, and it didn't matter that Castaneda had his own faults in his life.
He took a lot of his research from over two hundred books from real writings in the library, so a lot of what crops up in his books is in fact true.

Give it a read,
See you u like it,

Faust a dit:

Indeed, it seemed he got fed up and turned to hedonism. He might have noticed that his good intentions, were coming with some dollars as well.

exactly. i havent read any of his books yet, but ive been doing research online and watching some videos about him; so how can one really want to enlighten people, but want cash flow for it?

He didnt want to enlighten people . The first book was the work he did to get a degree at university . Then he carryed on . The last book comes back down to earth and puts the others in perspective .

Reading books about books is very often not a good way to go . First read the books and then if you must read what other people have to say or you will end up conditioning yourself to see non existant machine elves when you read them .

I wish people would look up conditioning and understand what it is before talking about it.

Then again, I should've kept the wish silent for it to come true ;).

OK Einstein what word should i have used ?

Give me your account details and I'll write your comments for you, how about that?
