Major current producers of hemp fibre include India, China, Russia, Korea, Romania and Hungary, where the cultivation of hemp has never been prohibited.

Since 1992, the EU had passed legislation to commercially cultivate low-THC hemp along with subsidies including France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain and Germany.

The EU has established a THC threshold in an attempt to distinguish between agricultural hemp varieties and marijuana. For hemp farmers, a THC ceiling of 0.2 percent on hemp varieties is allowed to be cultivated in Europe.

In Germany it is / it was 0.3 % and thats of the whole plant . I spent 6 weeks camping next to a field full of all the diferent kinds of industrial hemp that are available in Germany . I smoked from all of them and the effects of some of the buds was noticeable but tasted like burnt news paper . Has the EU introduced a law ordering a lower level since then ?

!!! You did? I'm very interested in this. Can you say if you think the bad taste was due to a spray, or 'inherent' in the weed? Did you get a chance to give it much of a cure before trying it? How much more did you have to have than normal to get a decent high?

MelT

It wasnt sprayed while i was there and there was no taste other than industrial hemp . I was there for about a month before i camped as well .

It tasted like all the industrial hemp that i`ve ever tried .

By cure i think you mean dry it . I dried it quickly . I think i put it loosly between two layers of paper . It was in august and september 2000 .

I didnt get a decent high . Some of it had an effect . So its not interesting to smoke .

If you are interested get some and try it .

If it's that easy to acquire industrial hemp, could you get a few plants and make oil?

The oil isnt going to do that much either . It would also concentrate the things that dont make one feel high . But if that oil got isomerised it would be a very good product . The problem with isomerising it is getting the chemicals , useing them and the danger of them .

Hmm yeah, stupid me forgot THC is probably not the only compound soluble in nonpolar, all other things found in essential oil too...
