So...
I got 50gm dried peruvian, ground it up fine, boiled with lemon, strained in fine wire strainer (wouldn't go through a shirt, because the small particles clogged it), repeat. Then boiled that down to about 200ml (~1cup) of viscous, brown gunk. It is extremely bitter, tasting similar to peyote buttons.

The gunk probably has a lot of plant material, but I got a lot out too...

The plan is for me and my friend to partake this weekend, Saturday if it's nice....

The question is, how should I store it? Is light okay, etc? If necessary, could I hold onto it for another week?

I was thinking I'd just store it in the fridge, but wanted to check. I got a little paranoid that I did the extraction too soon. If necessary, we could do it tonight, but it'd be a little inconvenient.

(It smelled kind of bad and cactusy when boiling....my upstairs neighbors must have wondered what I was cooking.)

hmmm .. I think sealing it airtight and keeping it dark and cool .. will help you keep it a while longer. . but not very long ..
I mean its now dead plant material .. and we all know how fast that can start to rot
I wouldn't keep it longer then a couple of days in the fridge ??
I don't know if it can be frozen in...

It was nice today, and 4-20...so...
I'm quite pleased with what 25gm dried san pedro can do....very pleased....kind of amused that I am taking a few minutes look at the computer...I just love psychonaut...

Any way....

it worked out well...keeping in the fridge over night separated out a lot of plant material and was able to poured good stuff off top, and was able to filter the rest though shirt...

It really didn't taste bad chilled...surprisingly not bad.

But, there was slight nausea for the first hour or so, but once the mesc started coming alive it was gone.

(We're at the 6hour mark, and very happy....not easy to explain to the computer though.)

Dry cacti can be stored for almost all eternity. But tea(lets say tea) is something that can ferment if some sugar is in it or even this bitterness can be enchanted. I know that I am late with post but for the future generations: try to make tea for second day not week before.

someone on another forum asked this question not too long ago. The conversation went like this:

Guy1: So will pedro tea still be good in a week if I keep it in the fridge?

Me: Well, the mescaline will still be in there but I'd be afraid of it conjealing and eating all the other shit in my fridge and possibly my dogs if it got out.

Guy1: Sentient drugs....now that's a crazy idea

Guy2: Idea? It's a fuckin' reality. You know salvia? Bitch stole my tv.
