Wondering what is the best setting I could put myself into under acid or mushrooms...

I really hate being inside, and to be honest I hate being in my home town, I feel like doing a psychadelic in my home time brings almost no external stimuli.

The very last trip I took on mushrooms presented to me a very, very important factor in who I am:

My brain, me, was urging me, pushing me to experience everything I possibly could while on mushrooms. Switching as many scenes as I possibly could. I was with some friends though, and they were afraid to let me drive so this wasn't possible for a while...

But now, I've been learning much from school, and eventually, come spring or maybe a winter vacation I want to experience some psychedlia. So I'm asking you guys, where has the most productive and positive trip been?

Most of you will (maybe?) respond with the home, i.e. a dark room where you feel safe, but I personally dwell in that setting. I feel stuck, like the walls shouldn't be there... Anyways

Where was it? Your best?

Try nature.

I have enjoyed trips both inside and outside.

[e]In winter it might be a bit cold outside, unless you are in temperate areas. A place where you can make a fire is recommended...

ok for me this is the best setting;

-during summer
-in a forest nearby your house. make sure you dont have to take the car or train or other vehicles to go to or from your location. Just consume the mushrooms at home and walk to the forest after that.
-make sure you have 1 or 2 days off after the trip

This will result in a beautiful "careless" trip

I was awestruck by that beach in turkey. you could climb up a little hill and you could see the reflection of the full moon in the water, not to mention all the stars. it was at a goaparty, and it was one of my most beautiful experiences I've had.

but generally, any place in nature is nice to go. especially forests. or even better a lake with forest around it ;) or a river, or or or...
just make sure that there won't be too much people around. although it generally doesn't matter, since most people won't notice or even care.

are you going to trip alone or with some friends?

I'd like to trip on a beach some time, but I think in holland it tends to be too busy =/. Other than that trees are awesome to be around when on psychedelics, they get more alive or something. Quite awesome.

Sounds like you have a fear of staying in one place while having an experience. I used to have that. Face your fear, and the truth will reveal itself.

Great topic:

- A warm period middle summer, the longer the day the better
- Blue sky, no clouds, crystal clear night
- Waking up around 3 PM
- Consuming a great amount of San Pedro at around 6 PM
- 7 PM drowsiness napping, coming into the first phase of "lucid dreaming" around 8, peaking at 10, I don't exist here though feeling very sane
- 10 PM till 4 AM deep into meditation at home with music
- 4 AM, going into my garden, seeing the stars in the night sky disspearing because of the sunrise, feeling a marvellous profound sense of unity with the bees at earth and the sky
- Usually going to sleep in the very late morning, around 10 or 11 (AM) with an utterly sense of tranquillity

My last trip on mushrooms was very good. I was camping in the south of The Netherlands (Limburg)
I tripped in the evening while the sun was setting. I was inside the caravan and outside in front of the caravan. In Limburg the people the land and the whole vibe is different from what I am used to, it's more peaceful and quiet. . The trip was very relaxing and the surrounding made it very easy to let go.

Camping and tripping can be very nice if you find a quiet camping space.
I once camped and tripped outside my tent. It was nice, but people racing scooters made a horrible noise that ruined part of the experience.

The ayahuasca ceremonies I did had also a very nice setting. And because there was someone watching over you it's easy to let go.

A perfect setting for me is a quit dark place. I always trip in the evening or at night.

I have also tripped at the beach a couple of times.
Some of those trips where intense others where relaxing. The beach is a nice place to trip, but it's not my ideal. I get my best work done inside.

Although I experienced several rewarding experiences during high dose mushroom sessions, I prefer rather gentle lowdose experiences in nature, because I find it stimulates my creativity, (In high dose trips I can't figure out the controls of my camera and the strong OEV's are impossible to capture) and on a relatively low dose my encounters with unknown people are easier to manage and can even be fun.

The original plan was attending a Goa party, but due to extreme traffic delays we arrived when the party was almost over. We shared a blotter and smoked a joint then the music stopped. I got frustrated that I traveled so long for only half an hour of party-pleasure. Then we decided to walk the beach and the acid kicked in as the sun rose to welcome a nice warm sunny august day.. It was a rejuvenating experience as I walked with my feet through the water of the shore and through the dunes, talking to my friend, taking photos, inhaling the fresh air, having a swim, falling asleep on the beach, watching the sunset.. We walked for about 30 kilometers until the beach stopped and then we took the train back.. I felt an increased connection for my friend and the to the world during this trip.

Interesting. I have tripped in winter time, twice. It's cold and when I get high or trip, I get the shivers sometimes bad, which becomes annoying, I can't tell if I'm hot or cold.

So I tend to stay away from winter outdoors, although they are beautiful, the sky in winter has something unique to it from summer, it's much more potent or something... unyielding.

I have also tripped in summer, it was good but my mind was constantly keeping me from those damn panic attacks. My friend described it to me quite well after watching me for some time:

"It's like you're thinking way, way over my head, like no matter what I'd say to you... it wouldn't matter. It's like you're not even here.."

At the time I just said "Yeah."

Was a very odd trip - All I did the entire time was watch the ripples in the water, it was ... indescribable to say the least.

I think if I do a very large dose or ayahuasca again I will go to a shaman group, I want to make sure that I will be O.K. and have some guidance next time.

Low doses I really like people. After being seperated for a while, tripping alone for the first half of the trip I LOVE seeing people the second half, I feel like everyone's my friend.

The best setting depends on what you want to get out of the experience. When thinking about setting you first have to think about your motivation/intention.
When you know what you want with these medicines you can start creating the perfect set setting to get the best result out of the experience.

:) Don't know how I overlooked this.

To reach a good trip I'm probably going to take a roadtrip in the summer, preferably alone and catch up with myself.

To understand the inner workings of my biological ticking and the sources of everything I may end up in the amazon at 35 (if it still exists :( )

Well, if you take enough psychedelics you'll be amazed at how different your home might look like.
If you take enough shrooms you'll be glad to have that safe walls, if you take enough mescaline you'll be amazed at how open your place is.
I think the safest place to try psychedelics is always home. Nature comes second, if there's a lot of open spaces and not many people.

my favorite settings so far (in no particular order)

-prettiest setting, outdoors walking through a field of tall grass at night, every touch evoking sights and sounds

-making music with friends, getting lost in shared creative acts

-at home in my studio with some paintings, art books, lots of blank paper and pen and a word processor. when it comes to using psychedelics for personal development, this is by far the most useful setting i've been in. i can relax and take my time without distractions that constantly pull me out of trance and disrupt my thought patterns

After coming down from an intense trip the after glow always includes a a state of sensual peace with heighted senses, that's the moment to enter nature IMO. Tripping even on a low dose doesn't connect me deeper with nature, I end up visualizing faces in plants and such activities, which disturbs the internal journey. I wouldn't even think about a full journey in any public place. What tryptonaut said, you'll thank God for the walls around you.

By far the best trips I ever had took place in my friends apartment. Its too bad she doesn't live there anymore though. Her place was just so comfortable for chillin and tripping and then when you walk outside theres a pool and all these trees. Had some of the best days of my life there.

I've only really tripped here in the city. The park was enjoyable, especially the sandbox. My friends made sand creatures for me.

I think at night while snowing this place must be much better.
