Hello,

In about 20 days I will be moving to Vancouver to enroll in my first year at University of British Columbia. I was wondering if anyone lived in the area as I will be going alone. I am going out there knowing no body at all. I am nervous because of that fact. It is going to be an experience I guess. Just ride the life train....see where I end up.

PEACE & LOVE

I wish you good luck and sucess . I hope you have fun .

2nd that. You'll quickly find some people with the same interests at the university! I also find it interesting when people from different circles of friends form a new one, rich diversity... :)

Thanks GOD. I am not to sure how living in residence is going to work out. I am more of an introverted type of guy. Apparently these places are just one big party.

Just wait and see . Your opening a new door in your life and your going to have to learn to deal with what happens = grow . I´m sure from what i have seen and heard from you that your mature enough to controll your own life and stand up for yourself . Your going to be allright .......and nobody can force you to have a permanent party . Youll find ways to get some peace and make mental room for your self . .......and have a party . Youll probably meet loads of people with the same interests and loads of nice girls . So be carefull and have fun .

Like dissolves like, you'll find cool people sooner than you think :)

Enjoy, dude1919!

Going to college is great. Remember South Park:

There's a time and a place for everything and it is called 'college'.

My brother and one of his friends lived in Vancouver, but they just moved back to Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago.

When I went to university in Canada for a year (I did an exchange) I lived in a Co-op and I really liked it. It was an international atmosphere and there were always people just hanging around on the couch or going out to the clubs. Whichever way you choose. Residence might be a bit more wild, as people are a bit less responsible. I'd say shop around, try residence, maybe try co-op and see everything as a learning experience.

Peace,
Fork.

Amongst people I know who have lived in Vancouver, it has a reputation as being a bit on the harsh side. But I can tell you that there are definitely some very, very good ones out that way, and you will meet some great people. Also some of the nicest scenery in Canada as well IMO :D

I miss the west coast, a lot actually. Been a while since I've been out that way and I still have dreams about it frequently. Good luck in your travels!

Thank you everyone! Only 9 days till I leave; it comes faster and faster. I believe time is speeding up. Feels like summer has just begun, but its already ending!

Well I am here, and I must say, it is fucking beautiful and sick! I have met people who smoke pot, and a really cool kid who take mushrooms and LSD! I thought these kids would not exist, but somehow they do! First day has been awesome. Looking forward to the knowledge and experiences!!!

PEACE & LOVE

Good to hear your OK and everything is going well . .............BUT if i were you i`d make sure you dont tell people to much about you before you realy get to know them .

Take care and i hope you have fun . Keep updating us to . And some pictures sometime would be nice . I`ve heard so much about Vancouver and it was all good .

No camera:(. But yeah I didn't tell these kid anything, the asked me! lol I will be careful GOD, and thanks for the advice.

Phew, it's getting more dangerous if you already look like a junkie...

(...just kidding  )

Enjoy your stay, have a nice time

Hey user_1919,

I'm in Vancouver, I live in the VGH area.

What are you studying? How are you enjoying the city so far?

Hope things are going well with the transition to a new city (it's a good one to transition to as well). Maybe our paths will cross sometime soon!

4 eyes.

Hello! I am studying Science, and plan on majoring in Pharmacology. I am enjoying this place its beautiful. The hippy culture on the beach is awesome. I went down there yesterday, and there was about 50 hippies, most butt naked, hitting a drum, dancing, singing, and just having a very good time. I will have to join them in the future, and take some LSD. It is the perfect setting.

PEACE & LOVE

Looks like you found Wreck beach... :)

There's a lot of cool stuff to see/do in the city. Make sure to visit Stanley Park and English Bay. We've got a nice Art Gallery (and lots of little ones too). The music scene is decent too if that interests you. Also, tons of great ethnic foods!

There's even an Entheogens supply shop called Urban Shaman.

Really! What does it sell. San pedro? (I hope lol)

Does San Pedro = Trichocerus Bridgesii? If so they have it. You can see on their website! Just google Urban Shaman Vancouver.

I haven't bought from them, but am planning to procure some b. cappi and Mimosa Hostilis from them shortly. :)
